Absolutely delicious food and incredible service! I was just wrapping up a day of hiking and decided to eat here before heading back home and it was outstanding. The baked haddock is a MUST!

We still will go back, I guess, however I was compelled to say something here. I made a reservation for last night 4 days in advance. I asked for a table by the window. We brought my 85 year old mother in law for her birthday. We have been several times, but she had never been. I so wanted her to look upon the lake while we ate. I get it is a small place and window tables are hard to come by, truly. I get that a Sunday of a holiday weekend is tough to accommodate everyone. But, when we arrived and we got seated my request for a window table was ignored even when one window table was conspicuously unoccupied during the entire time we ate there, not a soul sat there. Why couldn’t that table have been ours? I asked the hostess if we could have that table, instead of where she seated us, and was ignored. I was deeply hurt, actually, by this treatment. It was worthy of a review.Whoever that one table was saved for must be REALLY important to have ignored my request and seated us in the less preferred place. I would have understood if all the other tables were occupied but that nice view table was empty during our entire time there. Obviously we are not worthy? So, again, we probably will return as we do like the place , the food is good. Maybe. But we were truly slighted and it hurt. How many times will my 85 year old mother in law have left to see the lakes region and visit us? We proudly brought her there for her meal and to not get the requested table and have it unoccupied right in front of her view was rough. I do think a first come, first serve window table policy is appropriate. That unoccupied table with the view was an insult.

Amazing food and great menu! Make reservations! Small, intimate restraint on the water - not fancy but has some great fancy menu items. Staff is fabulous as well. Limited parking so car pool if you are going as couples. Love this place!

Went here yesterday with my dad, sat at the bar. A lot of regulars, but felt very welcomed lol. Beer was good, food was good. Nice view of the water as well on the left side of the bar

Fast, courteous and good food even when they were not expecting a group of 11 people swarming in and needing to be out in a hour.

Great place to dine on the lake, inside, or out, very nice view of the water, reasonable prices, good selection.

Great lunch. We had fried haddock sandwich and amazing French onion soup. The prices are really good. Highly recommend!

We took a beautiful drive to Gifford from Pembroke to explore the lakes region and have a nice lunch. I looked on TripAdvisor to find a nice place for lunch / dinner. I saw the reviews for the Lyons Den and figured with the great reviews, we would give it a chance. When we got there, I would say that there were ten empty tables. We were asked if we had a reservation. We said that we did not. As the woman answered the phone she said well, I think you are “SOL”. She proceeded to tell us at 3:00 that the tables were reserved for 4:45. I told her that we would be gone by then and she said that they needed two hours to get food to the table . They very rudely sent us on our way! Well, thanks for nothing and we will not be back!

Lyon’s Den is a small local family-owned restaurant and bar. We have been there several times over the last few years for lunch and dinner. It is popular with locals and tourists alike, although there are a limited number of tables so reservations are a must.

Quick lunch on the bar side. Our bartender, Margo, was great! Very personable and attentive to her customers.

Chaotic menu, hot as hell, and ultimately just OK. Service was phenomenal, but I can’t overcome the rest of the terrible

The service was fine as was my Classic martini. The restaurant is very noisy, but the food is even worse. The cooks obviously did not salt or add any other seasoning to the food. It was extremely bland and VERY boring. My red wine was served at the temperature of the kitchen. Yes, it was warm not chilled to a proper 62 degrees. I ordered the Veal Loraine. It was supposed to have a sherry and cream sauce, but I couldn't detect any cream and if they used sherry the flavor was non-existant. My wife's sword fish was firm but flavorless as well because; HEY, NO SALT! Perhaps the chef is following the government's recomendation to use less salt. But who ever liked any food the government made? Maybe you like spam, I don't. Although its one redeeming quality was a HUGE amount of salt. I'm done with Lion's Den. There is no way to add enough salt at the table to food that was cooked without salt. Paying $100 for improperly prepared food and wine is too much for me. I can make better, enjoyable food at home and my wine is properly chilled.
