Cute, rustic space on the corner with locally sourced food and coffee. I enjoyed their locally picked blueberries in the pancake with locally made maple syrup - a real treat! I ordered an omelette to go but ended up eating that while it was still hot ? Service was kind and friendly but incredibly slow

My wife and I visited on a Sunday morning for breakfast. We were two of three people there. My omelette was fine but unfortunately her eggs and toast were cold. When we asked if the plate could be warmed up in the microwave we were told it was out of service... Muffins of the day weren't ready because the staff was there late the previous night (?) but the apple cider donuts were decent. We've tried to be supportive of the restaurants trying to get a foot-hold at this location since Riverhouse Cafe left, but haven't found them to be competitive with other local breakfast options.

Great breakfast! My friend and I went this morning and it was the perfect way to start the day. I had an omlette and my friend had a breakfast sandwich. The omlette came with hashbrowns and toast. Usually I can never finish a plate like that, but I couldnt help myself since the hashbrows were so good and the toast was awesome! Great sit down place, with an awesome variety!Dietary restrictions: They had a dairy and gluten free section to the menu when I visited

I will not enter this establishment again under the current ownership. Please note for context that all dialogue was not escalated, loud, or rude, all were very civil on my part. My wife and I were told to grab a menu and seat ourselves, 30 minutes later we were approached for drinks. Note that there were only 5 small parties present when we entered and no flood of activity after our arrival. The food order was taken 10+ minutes later, simple menu items, french toast with sausage and a breakfast burger. The food arrived almost an hour after we seated ourselves, with undercooked sausage and missing bacon from the burger. We politely noted these issues and received replacements and an unapologetic $3 reduction on the bill. We ate our meals and received the bill, which included an upcharge of $2 for almond milk and $.50 for a slice of cheese. Neither increase to our bill had been shared with us during the order process. I also noted that this was not on the menu as a notation for the upcharges for the customer to know about when ordering. The waitress said there was nothing that she could do, I asked for someone who could and she retrieved the owner/cook. He greeted us and, I explained that this was our first time in as local residents and that we support local businesses, he appreciated that. I reviewed the issues and he replied, "I will take $2 off, will that make everybody happy". It was not about the $2.50 upcharge that was too expensive, it was the business approach in question, but replied, "sure". As I approached the bar to pay there were two waitresses and the owner discussing the discount and it was applied to the bill. I again noted to the server that the issue was the unknown upcharge that was not transparent to us as customers, her reply was, "we are too busy running around to tell a customer there is $2 more for almond milk". Again, I understand staffing concerns and that specific items are more costly, however the paying customer needs to know this as it affects their wallet too. The adjusted bill was handed to me and there was still visible grumbling between the staff directly in front of me. I stated, "you have made the decision for me to not come back", which the waitress, Selena, replied, "great, we don't want you back". I was apalled... never have I received that feedback as a customer. I paid via cash and was then shorted on the change because they could not provide the exact change. Paid $30, on a $27.13 bill(original receipt pictured below) and only received $2 back, which the owner had to pull from has pocket. I cut my losses and we left extremely disappointed by the entire experience and way that the owner did not attempt to curb the behavior, thereby condoning the treatment of paying customers in this fashion. In the current economy it is a fragile tightrope that businesses have to traverse to remain in the green and survive, I understand and empathize with this. We could have chosen a franchise to hand our money to, but we chose "The Locals" to keep our money local and support the regional economy. Unfortunately we will have to choose other establishments to do business with because this entire experience was inexcusable from the top down.

Great food and amazing staff! We visited the Cafe & Tavern on our way out of NH for a weekend getaway so needed a quick breakfast and it was an awesome surprise.

Formerly The Hungry Goats Eatery, The Local's Cafe & Tavern opened recently in the center of Greenfield serving weekend breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They close in the early afternoon and reopen for dinner at 5 pm. The place was redone with a similar layout as before with one open dining room with several tables & chairs and bar counter with seating on old wooden flooring and freshly painted walls. There's also outside patio seating in front of the building. The breakfast menu offerings include breakfast sandwiches, egg dishes, omelettes, pancakes, French toast, breakfast sides, cider donuts, muffins, and A&E Coffee. The lunch/dinner offerings include sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, nachos, comfort entrees & special dishes. On the way out to Southwest NH, I stopped in at The Local's for breakfast over the weekend recently. The place wasn't too busy on a hot sunny morning. Upon entering, you grab your own paper menu and napkin wrapped silverware and seat yourself. I already knew what I wanted and ordered the Apple Cider French Toasted Donuts ($9.95 plus tax) served with 2 eggs any style, and choice of bacon, sausage links, or sausage patty with an ice water. I also ordered a side of Hash Browns too. The food arrived to my table in about 10 minutes after ordering. The small soft cider donuts were sliced in halves, 6 grilled pieces (3 donuts) which had a light soft texture, great for dipping in the breakfast syrup. The scrambled eggs were cut up and soft. The grilled sausage patty was also great for dipping in the syrup. The hash browns were fresh sliced potatoes lightly fried and salted, but it was a bit too salty. I finished everything on my plate and got the check promptly. Overall, the breakfast I had was pretty good and filling to eat. The service here was adequate as the server was nearby and left me alone to enjoy my food.

Relaxed and charming atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast. They have some unique and delicious menu items too. Also occasionally have live music. And… actually good coffee!! I never order coffee with breakfast but am happy to here. More restaurants should offer espresso drinks!

Awesome menu for breakfast, or lunch. Coffee, espresso, and beer/alcoholic options for any time of day and the sandwiches we bought were so amazing I had to come straight to write a review. Go get a sandwich and beverage here, y’all!! I especially recommend the chicken caprese sandwich.
