extremely unprofessional, owner likes to accuse young women of stealing apples and screams in their faces instead approaching them professionally. these customers were confused over the "self pick" signs and didn't see any sort of stand to pay or check in at.
Extremely unprofessional.
I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I am from out of state and had no idea how a place like this runs because we don’t have these where I live. There was no signs or direction so I got out to take photos and I picked 2 apples. The farmers then came up to me and treated me like I was some criminal, getting in my face and yelling at me. Even tho I offered to pay and apologize they threatened to call the cops. Very unprofessional. If I was talked to like a normal human being then I would have went and paid for them and even paid more to pick more apples but they ruined the whole experience for me. Very sad.
Had a good time there. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have as many things to do on the week days as they do on the weekends. They have a fall festive during October, every weekend. With a BBQ, blue grass band and some other things. But we still had a good time. The " farm animals" were just goats. But they were cute. There was a nice selection of pumpkins and the prices for the pumpkins weren't bad. We wanted to do the corn maze but it was an additional 9$ per adult and children under 5 were free. But we decided that it wasn't worth the money for 3 adults and a toddler. ( personal choice ) the corn maze looked okay. Just a plain corn maze. The main store was Amazing. So many choices of fresh food and yummy treats. I was so excited to get some zucchini bread. Which was delicious. They also have a grill where you can order food.
The orchard part was probably my least favorite part.. I wish there was a smaller option for pick your own apples. The bushel was 35$ for the smallest bag. There was 15$ bag but apparently it was an add on only. The nice thing is you could use foodstamps to pay for the apples and at the store. The trees in the orchard were decent, it was a little hard to see the flags to mark them but we had a good time. Our toddler absolutely had a blast, with everything. She just loved being able to run and do everything on her own. It wasn't super crowded so you could walk at your own pace and have fun.
I would recommend going if you live in the area. We drove from Massachusetts but my father only lives 15 minutes from there. It was on a nice back road area with almost no vehicle traffic which was nice too. Good family place to get some good food, fruit and have a good time.
Applecrest has been my go-to apple picking destination for decades, ever since I was a child. The harvest festivals on the weekends in the fall are fantastic. The Bistro they built a few years ago is a welcome addition and offers a greater range of dining options when you come to visit. Live music, homemade ice cream, petting zoo, pumpkin picking. There's plenty to do and see.
We want to thank the family that host events like this so we can continue to memories with the Kids. Went today and they had a blast! Picking apples, tractor ride, hot donuts, just a blast! Please continue.
We will be back next year <3
Great for families!
Fantastic selection of goodies to eat or spice up a meal, even hard cider. Lovely farm setting. Prices are reasonable. Do not miss out on an apple cider donut (or twelve).
Best place to pick your own apples, get some apple cider and enjoy a perfect fall day ?? ?
The cider donuts are incredible and there is so much to do!

Such a fun family day! Amazing apples, baked goods, and cider. Great photo op spots too!
An experience of a place!! Especially since the weather is great. We were yesterday with our two children and it was amazing!! Everything is beautifully organized and there are lots of activities to enjoy. We were in a divine picking of raspberries and apples. We had fun and learned about other varieties of apples and raspberries. We had cider donuts that were worth waiting in line for. We also had a hot dog in a bun which was great and the grilled corn. The corn maze is huge with many paths in it. We bought the excellent agricultural produce in the store. Requesting attention to the high prices of the harvest and also in the store. If it is possible to consider and lower prices, it would be really wonderful. Looking forward to coming back here in the summer. Great atmosphere with good music and lovely bands. A day's experience. thanks.
Enjoyed picking apples and eating them. The apples are delicious. We ate there, I had the fennel sausage and wife and her friend had cheese burgers they came with chips. Food was good, had great live country music. Fun was had by all. They have a grocery store. Wife bought pumpkins and a variety of squash for fall decorating. A good day outing.
This place is awesome. I always heard about it, and decided to go last weekend. Bought TOO much stuff. Could have gotten a lot more. Could spend a long day there as well. Help was great and polite. Alyssa was a great representative for the orchard. Thank you.
Today, 10/6/24 Large amount of bees/yellow jackets/hornets flying around tables and umbrellas. Trash barrels right next to tables with lots kids in the area, people eating. Barrels should be further from tables.
Also, handicap access to restrooms is practically non
- existant ( I don't call a porta-potty with a sign placed on it, not within walking distance sufficient. Not sure how that works under ADA rules. We were also denied access to the standard bathroom in the restaurant because we were not dining there.
As of now, we won't be returning. I truly hope this situation gers resolved.
