Not only did I have a terrible experience, The Bench also modified the amount of money that I tipped.I visited The Bench this past week and had one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. It was busy at the time so I was patient, but once we were seated after a 20 minute wait, we had to wait another 30 minutes before a server even looked in our direction. A server had serviced 2 tables that had come in after us before they remembered we were there. Waited another 30+ minutes before the food arrived, mostly cold.I left a small tip as I did not feel The Bench deserved a high tip for the extremely poor service. Today I received an alert from my Credit Card company that The Bench had modified my tip to be a 33% tip. This could be constituted as fraud.Avoid The Bench at all costs. Terrible service, below average food, and they will make fraudulent adjustments to your tips!

I never write reviews. BUT THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST RESTAURANT I HAVE BEEN TO IN THE HAMPTON BEACH AREA. Service was the pits = Party of 6 = got 3 orders wrong! AND two orders literally came 35 minutes after the 1rst 4 came. And again, 3 orders were wrong on top of this!!! So we did not eat at the same time. Ridiculous. And NOTHING was done to make up for all this. NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY!!!

My husband and I always stop at diners and mom&pop type restaurants when we travel. We decided on The Bench this morning and were so happy we did. We both got the Bourbon Street Biscuit Dip. I wish I took pictures, but believe me when I say this was a beautiful display of handmade cheddar biscuits, cajun bacon, perfectly cooked egg, crispy home fries, and the best sausage gravy you’ll get up north! Great depth of flavor and such a satisfying breakfast. Would definitely go again next time we visit Hampton Beach!

I was hoping for another good breakfast spot in when I took my mom here on mother's day. Because she wanted to try this place. Decent service cool location with decent coffee but...Worst breakfast in the area by far. I ordered steak tips and eggs combo with raisin toast and home fries. (18$ and some change) What I got was over cooked toast flavorless scrambled eggs chewy non marinated steak with no seasoning and bland potatoes fried.I hope they hire a new chef soon since it's posted they are hiring for one I can see why. I'll stay clear for now

Love this place! It's very clean, Bright and Cheery, great window seats.Food is very good! Staff's very pleasant and do a great job! We made a special trip from Winthrop MA. It was worth it!

It doesn't matter how you order your eggs, you will always get them over easy.
Pros: I have been here 3 times now and the food is always wonderful. Today's food was also delicious, although the consistantcy of the home fries did seem a bit undercooked.Cons: Generally the food has been pretty quick to arrive to our table but today it seemed as though some of the other patrons who came into the establishment after ourselves, where served first. We got our drinks about 5 mins after being seated and then it took around 50 minutes for our food to arrive. My only advice is to plan ahead as you may be there for quite a while before your food arrives.

Great food at realistic and fair prices. The salads and sandwiches are fantastic and the Twisted Caesar salad with chicken that is blackened fantastic. The avocado that they put on the salad is outstanding.
