The wait is pretty significant, but the food is good, healthy, and affordable. AND they serve hot maté!

Pine is the restaurant for The Hanover Inn, Dartmouth’s charming hotel located in the heart of downtown Hanover and overlooking The Green. Pine’s location, elegant atmosphere, and service were excellent; the food was just alright. I enjoyed my salmon dinner, but my dad was disappointed by the size of his scallop dinner, given the high price. There are not many options here for kids, either, so beware. Overall, I would recommend this place for an elegant meal out, but be prepared for a high bill and small portions.

My wife and I had a good dinner outside at Pine at the Hanover Inn. Drinks were excellent. Food was well prepared, including the tenderloin and the poké. Service was delightful. Lack of heaters means that outdoor dining will quickly become problematic.

Brought out of town guests for a rather disappointing dining experience. Having lost our reservation, we were offered a table inside. Instead of typical NE fare, the choices were rather uninteresting. No lobster roll, chowder, or even seasonal vegetables. The waiter was stressed and brought rolls and butter with dinner instead of ahead. Two of us ordered salmon which was cool upon arrival. The hamburger offering was ok. Dessert menu was uninspired. Definitely not worth the price.

We were staying at the Hanover Inn attached to the restaurant and decided to have dinner there. We ordered the Tuna poke, arugula salad, pea and mint ravioli, and the salmon. Everything was delicious, and the service was really good. We ate there the next day for breakfast, and got the vegetarian omelette and the smoked salmon flatbread. Yet again we were not disappointed. 100% would recommend

We were looking forward to a lovely dinner under the lights watching the Hanover world go by. Instead we were at a very unspecial patio table in the back with no lights and starring at a brick wall...absolutely awful ambience... Service was adequate...our server seemed stressed and not very friendly...but was marginally okay. Food was good but not spectacular...and ice cream and cheesecake desserts were very disappointing..peanut butter pie was excellent. Not worth spending $500+ on a dinner for 6

It is very over-priced and the food is average.

This is a place to go for a special dinner. It is not cheap but the food and atmosphere make it worth every penny. Nothing makes me more unhappy than spending top dollar for a poor meal. However I do love a place like this where I feel the experience and food justify the cost. Afterwards we went to Melano Gelato for dessert and I recommend that too.

The food generally was very good. The appetizers in particular were spectacular. The marrow toast was excellent. Sadly, two main concerns popped up: the wine was marked up 300%+ on a selection of bottles that many customers may have been surprised by (a number of the Oregon and French offerings). Also, deserts were exclusively gluten free- we forged ahead. The whiskey chocolate cake was pretty inedible - a chalky mess really. Will definitely dine there again, but there are land mines.

I've had the good fortune to dine here a number of times on an expense account, which takes the sting out of the prices, such $6 or $8 (or $9 -- can't recall) for a tiny portion of pureed potatoes on the side. I've done breakfast, lunch and dinner there, and I like them all but OH HOW I WISH they had a menu which was available to the traveler who is eating there as a hotel guest. On the road, you don't always want emulsions and precious platings which invariably have ingredients you've never heard of. Maybe you could have a menu for guests of the Hanover Inn, for when after a long day you need sustenance, not a cutting edge meal... wouldn't that make sense? Service is friendly and efficient, the food is very good, recommend. But no one wants these dinners throughout an entire week... and unfortunately the options in Hanover, especially on a cold night, aren't enough to push you out the door in search of simpler fare. I love you Pine, but we have to talk...
