Heard great things about PINE and I was highly disappointed. Firstly, I ordered the farmers charcuterie board and it was really underwhelming. The farmers plate included Parmesan. Just a chunk of Parmesan, prosciutto, cheddar, and other meats. None of this felt locally sourced and was presented on a plate not even a wooden board. It looked as if someone had thrown random items on a plate and included cheese that was just laying around. When the main courses came I ordered the filet mignon medallions which weren't cooked medium like I had asked. The medallions were more on the medium rare side and very lean but tasty. The problem starts when I lifted up some of the vegetables on my plate and found brown mush. Just a pile of sweet brown mush. Ew. One of the other people I was dining with ordered a goat cheese napolean. For starters the puff pastry was barely baked. The pastry was white when it should be a golden-brown. There were absolutely NO greens. I am highly disappointed and won't be visiting again.

A fine restaurant located right in front of Dartmouth College. The quality of food was not at the level of a fine restaurant. Price was not reasonable; too much for the quality.Service was quite poor... Again not at the fine restaurant level.

More expensive than a night out in Brooklyn for standard New England fare. I might go back for the bar, which has a good selection. Service was good and it’s in a good location. The food is way over-priced and under delivers.

We had dinner here on New Year's Eve. I had the "day boat scallops" as the main dish. For $34 the dish included 3 average sized scalops. I was still hungry after the meal. Our server was nice.

Title: Festive Breakfast at Pine Restaurant☕️ Review:During our quick tour of Dartmouth College, we found ourselves at Pine Restaurant, conveniently located right in front of the university's main park. Visiting on Christmas Day at 7 in the morning, it was a relief to find it open when most places were closed. The atmosphere inside was absolutely amazing, adorned with festive decorations that added to our holiday experience. However, it's worth noting that the food prices are on the higher side. I ordered toast with cheesecake and a latte, which was so generous in portion that I couldn't finish it and had to take the rest with me. My daughter opted for the Dartmouth breakfast, and my husband enjoyed pancakes with regular coffee. Each dish was well-prepared and delicious, making our Christmas morning breakfast a memorable one. Pine Restaurant is a great spot for a special breakfast, especially if you're visiting the college.

I have — never — been ignored like we were at Pine. We showed up for our reservation, were seated, and then simply ignored. We finally got up and left.Shame on you, Pine, for ruining my birthday dinner with your incompetently run establishment. Either hire more servers, more attentive staff, or seat fewer tables. If this one-star review prevents a single patron from wasting money at your restaurant, I'm thrilled to post this.

The dinner menu is good selection of appetizers, small plates, and large plates, and should have something for most every taste. The lobster seafood risotto was excellent, creamy and a great portion size. I had the vegan risotto to try a new taste, though the farro and grains were not creamy nor soft as I'd have expected for a risotto dish. I finished off a half portion of the braised short ribs and gnocchi, excellent taste and portion size. At our table, the taco small plate looked great but I couldn't fit in even the one left for me. The service was excellent, at the table and the bar, with good selections of bourbons and beers though I opted for a Compari and soda when I saw the Compari bottle on the bar in front of me. Parking was surprising available on-street. I suspect it get extremely busy, with Dartmouth across the street, and the shopping nearby. Dartmouth at night is awesome from the restaurant, by the way, as is the spacious modern ambiance around the fireplace and bar.

For the first time ever, we decided to make reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. I expected to feel an element of remorse for not cooking, but PINE was absolutely perfect in every respect. From the valet parking to the warm and cozy setting inside, we felt cared for and welcomed. Our server, John, was polished, professional, kind, helpful, and fun! The vegetarian options were thoughtful and extraordinary, as were the craft cocktails. Three people, three very different eating styles, and we were all delighted by the food and the experience. Dinner was well-paced, and we were not rushed in the slightest. Many thanks to everyone at PINE who worked on the holiday to make ours special. I think a new tradition has hatched!

PINE is located as part of the Hanover Inn and features a creative menu & nice ambiance. The food tends to be subpar for the price, but it a great spot for professional lunches/dinners or a nice night out. Staff is friendly as well and prices for lunch are pretty reasonable.

I had the green bean meal and added a crab cake, i enjoyed both and also got a delicious mocha at the end. I secretly let the waitress know i wanted to help with the bill and she was very accommodating, even gave me a nod and a wink, when it came time to pay the bill. The valet guys were great and had our car ready even before I asked!

Pine has been good in the past but the waitstaff now is really disappointing. Twice I've dined there with waitstaff that acted like serving was an imposition. Today, nobody seemed happy that worked in the restaurant, no smiles and a general sense of anger was in the air. We waited 10 minutes for our drinks. I observed a waiter with such an off putting attitude and bad mood that was so noticeable that another patron asked him if he was "okay" to which he responded "I'm here". Service should be the number 1 in a restaurant of Pine's caliber. You cannot serve food at 4 star prices with waitstaff that give 2 star service and have 1 star attitudes.

I don’t know how to explain this place other than it being disappointing and sub-par in regards to food, setting and service. I was initially excited to come here. I came in from Austin to visit family and found this spot prior to my visit. My family in the area had slightly urged us to not go. And I didn’t understand why, until I went. The regulars that come in must be a small select few of locals… if that. This restaurant felt like stepping into the movie “The Stepford Wives”- pretentious and unauthentic. The food took quite a while to actually make it to our table, which I don’t have a problem with. But…our server was inattentive and for the few times he stopped by, he seemed rather aloof, out of it, or just didn’t want to be there. When we did get our food, it was less then spectacular. Drinks were expensive and unbalanced, scallops were cold and the risotto was so underdone, it wasn’t enjoyable. If you want to spend money on sub-par food and service, this is the place for you. However, if you want something authentic and not pretentious, look elsewhere.
