A truly iconic bookstore and Cafe. An amazing place to spend hours lost in book shopping and coffee sipping!

ULTIMATE BOOKSTORE / CAFE COMBO !Everything from the excellent coffee, impressive food & drink menu, book selection, and friendly staff is just done so great. My favorite of all in this college town

Excellence, local, and, in some cases, organic ingredients, as well as terrific preparation. Their coffee and lattes were equally as good. A cozy spot, not a ton of room, but people are coming and going all the time. Well worth a stop.

I used to love going to this bookstore, but was so upset when they messed up my gift card. I checked how much money I had in it one day and came back a few days later to use it only for them to tell me that the balance was $0 even though I had never used it. And they had told me I could use the gift card any time I wanted with no specific timeline. I was so excited to use that gift card. So sad and frustrating. This will probably impact me going back there for business and getting gift cards for others.

I would say the bookstore is fantastic and the coffee is horrible. Granted, I've only been once, I'm dealing with gestational diabetes and I can't have sugar (thus negating most of my go-to choices), and the only table available spun like a dreidel, so we ended up sitting on a windowsill. But none of those things would have mattered if the cappuccino I ordered actually tasted like a cappuccino. I honestly don't know what this was since there was no layer of milk foam or sensation of steamed milk whatsoever. The whole thing tasted like the Nescafé foam on a Greek frappe, which - if you've ever had it - will quickly make you realize it is not meant to be consumed. The presentation was nice, but it was hands down the worst cappuccino I've ever had. My husband ordered a breve (he had to explain what that was to the barista: a latte made with half and half) and it tasted better than mine, but not nearly as good as one would imagine if half of the cup were to have essentially been made of cream. Therefore: I don't know how they've been taught to make coffee drinks, but I would try something else. The books, however, were a nice distraction and I enjoyed perusing! They had some great titles there, and I would go back just to support them.

To say anything is quaint in Hanover New Hampshire is an understatement. The entire town is extremely village-esque.This bookstore is no different yielding an impressive number of best sellers and varied hardcover content. The cafe integrated into the bookstore has everything from pastries, cakes, and sandwiches. And for some of the more tempting options they offer wine and beer as well. The service is fantastic and the staff moves in the tiny kitchen to produce what's needed. In short, I'm a big fan of this place and whenever I visit relatives in Hanover, I'm making a point to stop in two or three times.Do yourself a favor and grab yourself a cup of coffee and look over their selection of books. My guilty pleasure is the "coffee table book" section.

This coffee shop / bar is one of the few safe spaces for queer people in the area. Everyone is so kind and the drinks a great!I wish they had a rewards system for the Cafe and not just the bookstore though.

Good selection, superb layout of stacks and reading nooks combined with a small cafe.

Wonderful little place with fun and unusual food options. Part café and part bookstore, and it's nice to be able to sit and read with a mug of tea. Wait times for food can get long, but it's a small business where a lot of things are handmade fresh, so I think it's worth it. Coffee is good and there's a good amount of drink options for non-coffee drinkers, too. Bakery items rotate pretty often, and the donuts and cupcakes are quite good. Great, bright atmosphere, even after dark, and a good place to stop by even if you're not looking to sit and eat.

Nice typical cozy bookstore cafe vibe, affordable food prices! Friends got the Huxley sandwich and were very satisfied, I got the simple salad with bacon. I found there wasn't enough radish or cucumber, and that the lemon/evoo was too salty and overwhelming, even though I asked for light dressing. We also got the ricotta honey toast to share and it was delicious!! Overall would recommend this place.

The photos are somewhat misleading - it's a tight but cozy space, filled with bookshelves organized maze-like to pack the most variety into the space. They have kids books as well as adult, and I found graphic novels I haven't been able to find anywhere else! There are plenty of spots to sit and read, but they were all filled when I visited at about 10am on a weekday Lovely place for book lovers, support independent bookstores!!

food is delicious but the book selection is very liberal and biased

Coffee is as good as Intelligentsia in Chicago before it got bought by a conglomerate (and that’s saying something). Best breakfast sandwich in the downtown area. And working with the staff to order books has been a simple pleasure.
