Very friendly and great server. The food was delicious and a good variety as well. The dining room is very spare, with no artwork or flowers. The building itself is lovely. We enjoyed our meal.
We had a really nice time at Eagle Landing! The food was delicious!! It was a little pricey but not unusual for the area. The server was great! The only disappointment was she took my bowl and threw out my leftovers without asking if I wanted them. Which I had wanted to take with me. Regardless, we would recommend and go back again!!
Staff is very friendly and food comes very fast. However, place has no ambiance at all and the quality is very poor. Do not order the stake and stick to pasta, if you have no other options.
Do not eat here. Food was horrible. Overpriced, cold all 4 courses were a disaster. Will never go back there again.
Save your money and go elsewhere. This makeshift restaurant (the Main Dining Room is being renovated) is just that. It lacks any kind of ambiance or cozy feel as it is an event hall. Three of the six meals were cold (two Rack of Lamb were very cold and chicken raviolis were barely warm), most likely due to the fact that they were being cooked in one place and delivered to another. Drinks were extremely limited due to few ingredients at the portable bar. The waitress spoke minimal English and was unable to describe meal items. Wish they would have shared this info prior to booking hotel. This might be one reason the parking lot to this huge hotel is rather empty. Invited friends to join us for dinner and it was embarrassing and less than good.
Christmas dinner was served in the "barn," a fact that wasn't told to me when making the reservation. It was VERY disappointing as the main dining room was the reason we chose the Eagle Mountain House for Christmas dinner. The food wasn't bad...just not anything to rave about. The server was terrific.
This review is being left after contacting the restaurant and making them aware of our experience with absolutely zero effort on their part to bring any resolution. I would steer clear of Eagle Landing. We had a 6:15 reservation. When we arrived we were sat promptly. Once seated it took 15 minutes for us to be acknowledged by the waitstaff. After receiving our drinks, there was another long pause before our food order was taken. The appetizer arrived and was fine. Then the long wait started again. My wife had ordered mac and cheese with a salad and I had ordered the lobster ravioli. When my ravioli arrived it looked like it had been under a heat lamp for way too long and was quite tough. My wife's Mac and cheese arrived before her salad. Drink refills, not without asking. Again, this was taken with a grain of salt. You never know when growing pains are happening. The straw that broke the camels back was our waitress's attitude. We felt like we were bothering her. At the end of the meal my wife had taken 3 bites of her Mac and cheese enough to decide it wasn't for her. At this point we were ready to go but we already knew getting the check was going to be a problem (which it was). My wife ended up flagging the hostess down who found our waitress to get the check. Our waitress brought the check and began to take the plates away. Never once asking if everything was ok or if there was any issue with the food since it was obvious my wife had barely touched hers.
Unsanitary, unsafe, unwelcoming. Those are the words that describe the experience you get when you stay at this "historic" hotel. The management of the hotel should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves for how they conduct business. Their lack of emergency preparedness is evident. They have 0 electricity and 0 water backup solutions if the power goes out. How can a hotel in service operate for over 100 years in Jackson of all places without having proper backup utilities if the power goes out? It's unbelievable, and should be unacceptable by the State of New Hampshire. They are truly con artists of the hospitality industry. They rely upon hope instead of being people of action. All they care about is not losing money or having their reputation being negatively impacted rather than caring about their guests. Not a single employee made an effort to inform or call guests to make them aware of the no-power situation either, myself included. Fortunately I found out when I arrived at 9AM, however, as they're kicking everyone out of the hotel at 4PM because they were forced to shut down, new guests arrived to find out the nightmare situation they walked into. As you can tell from Maranda's, Mandy's, and other reviews like theirs, the owner/staff have no acceptable, real, or valid response to the underlying safety and sanitary issues. If your phones are off the hook - use your cell phone. It's the absolute least they could do, because they did absolutely nothing at all. If you wish to be treated like a leper from 2000 years ago - whether through the service or amenities, this place is for you. To the owner reading this - don't respond to me. I don't have enough time or crayons to level with you, and you won't get a second chance from me, or a first chance from everyone else I tell about your hotel. Instead of taking the time to respond to my review, use it to start fixing the actual problems people are telling you about.
DO NOT waste your time or money at this hotel. They ruined our wedding day. They do not have basic back up power in the likely event of a power outage. Explain to me how a hotel in the White Mountains doesn't have an emergency generator? Power outages happen and there are simple ways of dealing with them. Extremely unprofessional staff and front desk. Linda Boyer wanted to just give up and let everyone go home following our ceremony. She had no problem taking our money, though. We have not received a simple "I'm sorry" from the hotel or any of the staff. Save yourself the frustration and find anywhere else to stay and/or host your event.
A nice meal during our stay at Eagle Mountain House. My wife had the roasted turkey dinner. I had the maple pecan salmon. Both were nicely prepared and reasonably priced. Our server was very attentive despite being the only server working the dining room. The tavern and restaurant are definitely a solid choice if staying in the Jackson NH area.

I think Eagle Mountain House may be overlooked by many Who visit the valley. Not only is it a pleasure to stay in a lovely historic hotel, but the dining experience was a delightful surprise. All four of us had a delicious meal from salmon to short ribs to a fully plated turkey dinner. The staff was attentive and courteous. A+ all the way. Will definitely make the Tavern a stop whenever we are in the area.
I would not recommend dining here for any occasion. I booked a reservation for a 30th birthday dinner a month in advance with the manager. We had multiple conversations on preferred seating and she recommended we arrive at 7p for drinks outside and sit for dinner at 7:30p. Because we’re from out of town we went with her suggestions.
Upon arrival the host rolled his eyes at us when we stated we would grab drinks prior to sitting. I asked if there was an issue because the manager had recommended we do so. After spending almost $200 on martinis the host came and grabbed us 15min later to seat us.
Upon being seated we reviewed the menu and started to order apps. When we asked the waiter where the shrimp was from he replied “the ocean.” We placed two orders and the special stated 6 shrimp per order but we only received 5 per order. We brought it to his attention and he replied “there’s a shortage.” We also ordered two crab cakes but received three so we let the food runner know because we did not want to pay for a third. Once apps hit our table the waiter came back and told us (not asked us) that we had to order because the kitchen was annoyed and wanted to go home. It was 7:20p at this point and the kitchen closes at 8p. We were ready for another round of drinks and the waiter started pouring directly into our empty glasses instead of bringing fresh glasses. When a fresh glass was requested he poured it into a rocks glass instead of a martini glass and told us “there was a shortage.” A majority of the meals were decent despite the short rib being 75% fat. We opted not to order dessert for her 30th and he told us that was a good idea. He was nice enough to give us leftover candles for us to celebrate at our rental.
I waited a few days to leave this review hoping the manager would return my call so we could address these issues offline but unfortunately she did not. The entire staff besides the bartender were rude and unprofessional. It makes sense why we were one of the only tables that evening.

Staff was rude & unprofessional, food & drinks we’re decent at best.
The inn is absolutely gorgeous. The server was outstanding. However the food not so much. We got a nachos plate that looked like it had been sitting out and reheated. It was also cold. Onion soup was excellent. My friend got the ravioli dish which the raviolis were hard on the edges. My fish was just so so. We thought for the price the quality of the food should have been top notch. I live in the valley and work in hospitality and know how difficult it is. Hopefully with feedback things will improve because this place is a landmark gem.
Very nice place and atmosphere
