I have been coming here for over a decade (hour drive away) for the great food (onion rings, maple balsamic dressing, grilled cheese & tomato sandwich, etc.) only to find the menu just changed and has dropped most of the items me and my friends enjoyed with the beer. The only items left is stuff you can find anywhere and is very limited selection.

I hope the old menu comes back, otherwise this place will loose a lot of their patrons when they see the reduced menu and just become another general pub.

Used to be one of my families go to places. Don't know what happened but the menu changed for the worse and along with that so did the food quality. Big disappointment but unless they change back I'll be warning others not to go anymore.

I was very disappointed visiting here after being away for 3 years. I've been going to this restaurant for years now. They took the onion rings off the menu, along with my favorite salalsd and the maple dressing. It was a challenge to find a vegan meal. I will not be visiting this place the next time I come to the area.

Very disappointed that they discontinued having onion rings available on the menu. Also, they took several good vegetarian dishes away, including the vegetarian burger.

Vegetarian options: The new menu has taken many vegetarian options off of their menu

We sat at the bar and had lunch with a Grosch beer. The taco salad was big enough for two and so delicious. Love seeing all of the brewery equipment through the glass! Will be back. The bartender was fantastic.

I went to KSC many, many moons ago and never knew this place existed. I went today for the first time and had a great time. It has a nice vibe inside, it reminds me of an old mill. I had two Peachy Keene beers which were delicious. Lunch was a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese, delicious.

Service was great, the food and beer was delicious, and affordable. My entire bill with tip was $40. I will be returning.

Fair prices, good American food, and the ambiance is the selling point.

😥We stopped here Sunday for dinner. It was only a 20 min. wait to be seated and our server was pleasant. I ordered the filet mignon, it was definitely NOT a filet of beef. It came sliced and chewy, the potatoes were too salty to eat. My husband ordered the shrimp/sausage jambalaya. It was served in a small bowl of mostly rice and black beans (flavorless). We had two glasses of water. VERY expensive snack. Almost $100 with the tip.

New owners and kitchen staff. New waitstaff will ensure that even if the kitchen is perfect (it ain't) your steak will sit under a heat lamp until it's perfectly grey. People need to take smoke breaks/whatever.
Don't worry though! Their hostess will be more than happy to come to your table and embarrass you by informing you that their poorly calibrated thermometer reads dull gray meat at 130f - clearly I don't know what medrare means. The obviously overcooked steak was fine, and I'm just an idiot who won't eat a grey, overcooked steak. Shame on me.
I tried to pay for my uneaten meal, but even after insisting I pay, they comped the meal I sent back, against my wishes. For the record, I didn't try a bite of it. I also don't feel compelled to taste hiking boots. I left a ~100% tip on my remaining check.
I've been a long time customer there, this is the 5th steak I've had there in a row (over 2 years) that was terrible, and the rude waitress with the stripper name was about enough for me.
Modest Man and Branch & Blade live right in the same town. Each has amazing beer, service, and food, compared to what's available here. Save yourself some disappointment
and check another venue. Elm City won awards - with different owners and brewers. What's available there now is.. not very good.
I'll be turning in my club mug and taking my business elsewhere from now on.
***Notice how they go on the attack with their replies?
This is the sort of atmosphere they've had there lately. I left out of my earlier review how one of their servers mocked me for wearing a "jacket when it's 90 degrees" 2 weeks ago.

We came here from New York to meet up with some family members. The atmosphere was really nice and cozy. Definitely have the brewery feeling to it. The beer and food was great and much more than what we bargained for! Which means, definitely worth the price! Our waitress was wonderful and friendly. Highly recommended for anyone coming in from out of town and would like a cozy place to relax and have a good food and beer.
