Thought we were making reservations at Luca (a favorite) but found out when seated that under new owners/name now. Had to get up to find waitperson to ask where a glass of wine we ordered was. Had to call out to waitperson to ask for pepper. Practically empty restaurant so not due to over-business. Their freezer was broken, I overheard, so wondered about food sanitation. Food was average.
The food was average. The short rib could have been less chewy. Service was poor. My wife's rum and coke was probably just coke. No rum taste at all. Doubt that we will return.
They have no bread offered unless you order it for I think $12., couldn't tell. You get 3 rolls & butter. The service was spotty and slow. The wrong food was brought out first, then my brother received his food a good 10 mins before ours, and ours was cool by the time we got it. The food tasted good, but not sure about the quality. Need to improve service. This was our 3rd and last time here. Wanted to give them one last chance. Maybe pop in sometime for drinks, which were good, but slow in getting them, but never food again.
Over all experience was good. Food is good. The chef is new since we last went. Our first visit last year was delicious and elevated. This recent visit was good, but didn't wow me. I'd go back and try some other items. My short rib gnocchi was very good. The Parker house rolls warm and tasty. Definitely give it a try.
Worst restaurant experience in a very long while. Our waiter was a nice guy, but clueless about being a waiter. His training was non-existent. Restaurant clueless. Main course delivered 5 minutes after appetizers. We told them to return them to kitchen and bring when we were ready. 20 minutes later (appropriate time interval) main courses delivered...Luke warm/sauces congealed...just awful. Restaurant was empty so staff had zero pressure. Entire operation clueless and too many gaffs to enumerate here.
Several dishes were not available. Our entrees arrived within minutes of getting our appetizers. The cheese ravioli was not “artisanal” as described on the menu. Entrees were cold. Don't usually write like this but it was a disappointing experience.
Bar BQ platter was luke warm and uninspired. Meat did not pull away from bones at all. Salt was forgotten in rim of Margarita glass, after it was requested.
We had a great experience at Town Square Tavern. The food was good, our waiter was great, and he accommodated our toddler with kindness. There are not a lot of tables in the main dining area which helped maintain a quiet atmosphere. Would definitely dine here again.
The food and service were better the last time we ate here. I'm not a big complainer and maybe it was an off night, but I'll give it one more try.
Food was outstanding as was the service. Best restaurant in Keene and I tried quite a few of them.

We arrived at 6:05 for a 6:15 reservation. We were seated and given menus. So far, so good. The host poured our water and took our drink order. My husband had the pasta dish. I had the beet salad and lobster chowder that had neither lobster (not one single piece of lobster) or the wonderful veggies that define a chunky chowder. The soup was thin and tasted vaguely of seafood, but there was no heft to this soup. It just wasn't chowder. My soup and salad arrived first, well before our drinks or my husband's pasta which arrived next. The pasta was drenched in olive oil, at least twice as much oil as was required to sauté the vegetables. It was greasy. No bread was served. Soup, salad, and pasta should ALL be served with bread. I did get a plastic-wrapped little package of oyster crackers. Our drinks finally arrived about 1/2 way through our meal. The orange crush was good. The bar was out of Miller lite. The host and our server were doing their best, but without a good kitchen and bar, why go out?
Both of us had the hummus appetizer which was served with Nan and grilled veggies — excellent app split between two of us. Each of us had the grilled salmon — YUMMY! I highly recommend Town Square Tavern.
We had a delicious meal here last week! Friendly service, nice bar selection. The food was outstanding. I can't wait to go back!
The food was excellent besides that one of the main ingredients in my dish was non existent. The service was terrible. There was only two waitresses and they were struggling. It took forever to get drinks and we ended up canceling our dessert because it took so long. Hopefully they can figure things out and it'll be a great place.
We had an outstanding dinner at Town Square Tavern last night. New menu beginning this weekend — we ordered pastas (Neapolitan Nerano Pasta and Seafood Pasta Diablo). Both were prepared beautifully—piping hot and flavorful, and the portions were generous. Our servers were gracious and attentive. We will definitely be back!
