The Kingston House has been one of our favorite restaurants for almost 30 years. The menu is diverse, the portions and food quality are outstanding, and the ambiance is a walk back in history. And a hint - if you have a romantic evening for two planned, asked for Table 19, and thank me later!
High-quality service and top-notch professionalism. They made everything so easy and enjoyable.
Stay away from this place! It’s like an old camp - dark cold and dingy - Prices SKY HIGH ($174 for 2 People??!) tiny portions -no selections or substitutes (mashed potatoes & green beans-That’s it for side choices) drinks were weak and staff was awful- we got there 1/2 hour after they opened and they hadn’t even turned the heat, music or fireplace. Everything seemed like it came out of a can.
What a spook-tacular evening having dinner with my husband at the Kingston 1686 House!
With its old world charm, furnishings and eccentric staff, it was perfect.
The crab cake appetizer and prime rib was amazing with a delightful ambiance of Perry Como playing softly in the background added to the experience.
With a history of the restaurant being haunted, I found myself looking over my shoulder at times for paranormal activity as we laughed over our delicious espresso martinis and tiramisu. We had a lot of fun although we didn’t see any ghosts… or did we? ?

Enjoyed our experience, the prime rib was the best anywhere! The actual chicken parm was delicious! The service was excellent. The people were more than friendly! I would only say the table should have a table cloth for a fine dining experience! All in all I give a 10!
I love it there! The food's delicious! The waitresses are awesome, and I Love the atmosphere ?

We were there for our 56th Anniversary. The meal and service were great. We sat in the Tavern. We go there every year and have never been disappointed. This year was especially awesome because a wonderful person paid for our meal and it wasn’t cheap.. who does that? What a wonderful surprise. Thank you to the wonderful person that did that, very much appreciated .

My sister and I both felt ill afterwards. The food managed to be fairly tasteless but still upset our stomachs. The décor and furniture is outdated and on the shabby side.

Last night we celebrated my husbands 80th birthday at Kingston 1686 House. There were 17 of us. I can’t speak highly enough about the wonderful experience we had. Owner Marlene worked with me throughout the entire planning and actual event. Christie was fantastic with her seamless service. Food was excellent. I recommend this place for a quiet dinner, or a large event.
