The food was delicious and the staff, very friendly. Soft atmosphere but no back ground music. We could hear everyone else's conversations and a lot of clinking from silver ware and dishes. We will probably go back again but only to sit in the bar area and watch the game.
Had the French onion soup and the best I've had in a long time and the steak was equally as good will be going back soon
Our 2nd dinner here. Very satisfying vs other experiences from other restaurants.
My girlfriend and I were recommended this by a trusted source and are sad to say we likely will not be returning here. Figuring it was going to be busy, we called a night before to try and make a reservation, but were met with a rude-sounding voice on the other end informing us they don’t.The next night, we arrived and felt somewhat ignored as a frustrated-appearing wait staff buzzed by us without acknowledging us. Other patrons were already complaining of a 45 minute wait and that kitchen staff was extremely backed up. We were finally met by a frazzled hostess who was short with us, but found us a table a few minutes later. We sat down at a freshly cleared table, but the cleaning solution didn’t smell...clean.Our waitress came over and took our promptly drink orders. While looking over the menu, we heard other patrons complaining of not having food after being there for approximately one hour. In perusing the menu, nothing appeared to stand out or offered verbiage to make the dishes seem enticing, almost to the point we walked out without food. Our waitress took our order and otherwise delivered our food in a timely manner. We ordered and received the following: a French onion soup that was more sweet than savory, potato skins that were soggy and looked thrown together, and salads that offered little more than lettuce and a couple of slices of onion. For our main course, we each ordered the $30 - 12 oz prime rib, claimed to be near famous and what we received was one of the blandest cuts of meat we’ve ever received. And for $30. It was tender, but that was about it. We couldn’t finish either. The sides are hardly worth mentioning. A house-made mashed potato and gravy that lacked any flavor profile, mushrooms that were underdone, and a butternut squash (?) that we couldn’t touch. For an additional $4.To top things off, my second beer was served in a cracked beer glass. We brought this item and our dissatisfaction about the meal to the attention of our waitress who rectified these issues by not adding the second beer and one of the prime rib dinners to our bill. If not for her understanding and working to make things right this would have been a 1-star review. The place labels itself as a sports bar, but with sports bars a dime-a-dozen, CJ Avery’s doesn’t offer anything to really stand out in the market. The flow of the floor space is weird, carpets are worn, the walls are dated, and the decor is thrown together. Overall, the place felt dirty and unappetizing as soon as we walked in.
Great food and service. Their sea food is excellent
Good service good food
My wife and I were in there this evening there were approximately 4 people at the bar not including us and two I believe were the owners.pretty quiet being a Wednesday night and all.I looked through the menu I couldn’t believe they are asking 15.00$ for a meatloaf sandwich not a sub a sandwich!Any way we ordered two beers (again at the bar)the bartender disappeared and we were left there at least 5 min. Mind you the owner or manger sat across from us also at the bar with no care in the world Needless to say we walked out Don’t waste your time in this dumpster dive
Fantastic prime rib! Great service a must go to place.
They claim to have best prime rib in the world. Im not sold on best in the world, but its pretty damn good. It was cooked perfectly, very tender, and i thought it was well worth the money. I would compare it to an Abe n Louies in Boston for half the price. The cocktails were good. The service was friendly and on point. The french onion soup was ok. The crab cakes were ok. The kids liked the chicken tenders. The wife had stuffed haddock and loved it. The seafood stuffing had seafood in it. Overall, i would go back especially for the rib.
Food was over priced 95 $ for 3 people I thought was was expensive service was excellent tho
Restaurantji Recommends

Food, Service is always A+. Every time we visit Laconia the kids will say "can we eat at Averys"!!
The food was excellent, our server Justin was the best.
PSA!!! I recommend that NOBODY ever goes to CJ Avery’s in Laconia. Never in my life have I ever gotten food poisoning from eating somewhere (my mom and brother aren’t feeling well either).. and I got a SALAD. Above from me being sick, the service was just subpar and the food mediocre at best. And prices out the roof!! I don’t normally post things like this but
My children and I ate here last night, we were disappointed in our food and the prices were crazy expensive. service was slow. Today we are all sick, we will never eat here again!
