I was in Hanover, NH, for a week and wanted breakfast before hiking. The in-town diners were a bit too stuffy. Shyrls came up in my search, and I found it to be welcoming and a great place to eat breakfast. Don’t miss it if you are in Hanover!

We work nights, so it’s been challenging to find late night/early morning spots for cravings. One Sunday, we were so happy to find Shyrl’s Diner opens at 5am and decided to drive down and give it a try. We were kicking ourselves for not finding out about this well-kept treasure sooner! They had ample free parking beside the building. As soon as we entered the diner, we were immediately greeted and felt at home with yummy smells reminiscent of grandma’s kitchen. The atmosphere was very cozy and the locals that dined early are on first-name basis with Shyrl and Deb.
We ordered the biscuit and sausage gravy special and corned beef hash with eggs, which were both so yummy and hit the spot! The portions are huge to just right if you’ve missed a meal or two. I highly recommend choosing one of their freshly baked bread (white or wheat), which comes out perfectly toasted and buttered. We also loved the hot and crispy tots.
We felt very taken care of during our visit and would definitely return in the future! Thanks Shyrl and Deb for making us feel at home!

Best breakfast I’ve had in a very very long time. We loved the entirely homemade biscuits and gravy (and I’m a tough critic!), huge blueberry pancakes, and even better service. Everyone was friendly and made us feel like we were locals. I cannot wait to go back.

As always, Shyrl’s diner was completely awesome. The food is delicious with generous size portions at a great price. The staff are always super friendly, professional and have an uplifting spirit. They always have a smile for their customers. There’s usually always a wait time, but that just goes to show that this diner is very popular!
Reviews won’t let me post a new review, so I am editing this one to add in my last visit there. The day after I got out of the hospital I was on dietary restrictions awaiting surgery and when I explained to shyrl what I would like for breakfast, but with a substitution, she accommodated me with no hesitation. She has always been a great owner and she runs a great diner. If I could give 10 stars I would. Highly recommend. I dined in but had 2 to go orders as well and it cost me around $25. Which is not bad at all, especially for excellent food!
