If you're in search of authentic Haitian and Jamaican cuisine, The Karibbean is a must-visit spot. I recently had the pleasure of dining there, and it was an experience worth sharing.
I ordered the Goat Curry, which was served with a side of rice and beans and their signature Karibbean slaw. The curry goat was flavorful and tender, truly a standout dish. The Karibbean slaw had a nice mild kick, which I enjoyed, but if you’re someone who isn’t keen on spicy food, I’d recommend letting them know when you order. For those who love a bit of heat, it’s perfect.
For my sides, I had the fried plantains and veggie patties. Both were delicious and well-prepared, complementing the main dish wonderfully. To wash it all down, I opted for mango juice, which was refreshing and sweet, exactly what I needed to balance the spices in the meal.
Dessert was the Haitian brittle, a coconut treat that was just the right amount of sweet to finish off the meal. Unfortunately, I was too full to try it right away and had to save it for later, along with the veggie patties. The portion sizes are generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth.
The ambiance at The Karibbean is warm and inviting, with a vibrant Caribbean feel that makes you want to stay and enjoy the atmosphere. The service was excellent—attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience.
I had the chance to chat with the chef, a wonderful Haitian gentleman, and it was a highlight for me. Anytime I get to speak French, I’m thrilled, and it was a pleasure to hear about his passion for bringing authentic Caribbean flavors to the community.
Overall, The Karibbean is a gem for anyone looking to explore Caribbean cuisine. Whether you’re there for the food, the ambiance, or the friendly service, you won’t be disappointed. Just be prepared to leave with leftovers!

Seriously some good food here! I ordered the jerk pork and oxtail stew for pickup. The food was ready fast, the lady at the counter was so sweet and friendly, and the food was TO DIE FOR. The meat is fall-off-the-bone tender. The slaw is crisp and tangy, and I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed rice and beans this much. Definitely coming back to sample the rest of the menu.

This was a lucky find! Authentic Caribbean food, tasty tender meat (we got jersey chicken, curry chicken and plantains), served fast (5 min!) by friendly staff. There is a small eat-in area that has a great "hole-in-the-wall" vibe. So happy we found this place!

Food came quickly. Had the jerk chicken with beans and rice, and the fried plantain. The jerk chicken was very good, fell off the bone nicely. Beans and rice were great. Plantains were ok.

I went to the Karibean for the Grand Opening of the Bowen's second location in the area. I ordered Jerk Chicken, Creole Pork, and Ox Tail meals along with fried Plantains and spicy slaw as an appetizer. I loved all the dishes and am delightfully stuffed. The chicken and pork have light heat. That is wonderfully balanced by the rice and bean sides with a touch brightness provided by the slaw. I'm so happy to have a great option for something different so close by. Great vibe tonight!

I got the oxtail, rice and peas(beans), and plantain. I don't know how authentic the Jamaican oxtail was. It did not taste like it does at other places. The oxtail had no carrots, no butter beans, no dumplings, nothing but meat and gravy(sauce). Overall, the food was okay.

Really cool atmosphere. We didn’t end up eating inside but you very much could and it was a very chill place. I had never had Caribbean food before and it did not disappoint.

The food was satisfying but it’s more Haitian than authentic Jamaican food.
