Always wonderful sea food!
Lobster rolls are customizable and portions are bigger than most other places!
The swordfish (steak) dinner with Cajun butter is outstanding and only $20! Can't be beat. Went here two days in a row while in town. It's that good.
We stopped by The Lobster Boat in Litchfield New Hampshire for a casual family dinner, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with some great highlights and a few areas that could use improvement.
The lobster bisque was pretty decent—creamy, warm, and flavorful. A comforting way to start the meal.
We ordered the Fisherman’s Platter to split, and while the fried haddock was solid and the scallops were good (not phenomenal but certainly not bad), the fried clams were a disappointment. They were listed as whole bellies, but either the bellies were missing or they were the smallest I’ve ever seen. For fried clam lovers—looking at you Clam Box—this part didn’t quite hit the mark.
The shrimp were small and basic, and everything on the platter seemed to be seasoned the same way. It all blended together with no real variation between the items. A bit more differentiation in seasoning or flavor could go a long way. The dipping sauces were standard—tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, or a slightly horseradishy cocktail sauce—but again, nothing was uniquely paired to enhance each item.
That said, the kids’ meals were a bright spot. At just six dollars each, they’re a fantastic value. One of my kids got the chicken finger platter, another had buttery noodles, and the third went with Kraft mac and cheese. All three were happy and finished their meals, which says a lot.
Dessert was excellent. The cheesecake was rich and delicious, and the chocolate cake was an even bigger hit. Large portions and full of flavor made for a perfect sweet ending.
All in all, The Lobster Boat delivers a family friendly experience with good service, great dessert, and unbeatable kids’ meal pricing. With some tweaks to the seafood seasoning and a bit more care on the clams, this place could really shine. We’ll definitely be back—for the bisque, the cake, and the unbeatable value.
It was fine. Good portions and products. It just wasn't what we expected. The dish we ordered, anyway. It worked out. That said, it was pricey and more than I had hoped and expected to spend.
Fisherman’s Platter ( small!) Absolutely delicious! The price was lower than any seafood restaurant we eat at! Can’t wait to revisit!
Ordered two “Jumbo” lobster rolls. One buttered, one regular. The buttered one was plain for some reason, not butter at all and the bread soggy (how? The lobster was dry so I dont know) the lobster on both rolls was extremely chewy and fishy. We also ordered fried scallops which had a very odd taste. Was any of it fresh? I doubt it. $130 on food that ended up being inedible. I had never had seafood in front of me that I didn’t want to eat. Incredibly disappointing.
Got take out, ordered ahead and skipped the line. Food was good, but portion to price isn't great. Seafood platter, was pretty small. 5" piece of fish, under a dozen small shrimp, 6 Sea scallops, a good amount of fried clams, with the whole order covered up by onion rings and fries to hide the lack of " seafood". Large and small seafood platter and fried mushrooms was almost $80 with tip. I'd have to experience dine in to know if it's just take out that gets skimped on... Don't expect a lot for your money though.

Food was quite tasty to me. I've never had fried lobster, but it was crispy yet tender on the inside. Our waitress(Micaela) was wonderful, made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us enough but not too much so we could enjoy our meal. The locals here were very sociable and friendly. Welcomed us to the area and offered suggestions of what to try and places to visit. Great experience here.

Lobster Boat Restaurant in Litchfield may seem off the beaten path but it very well may be worth any out-of-way drive, and upon arrival, it won’t take long to feel the “seaside” buzz from the colorful building and entranceway to the distinct aroma of freshly prepared seafood inside. The menu is loaded with enough options, both seafood and non, to satisfy everyone in your party. Service for us was friendly, helpful, and prompt. We felt right at home. Two of us ordered the Baked Seafood Medley which was gorgeously served on a bed of baked crumbs. OMG, D-lish. The Crab Cakes with Lemon-Garlic Aioli were incredibly flavorful. The Fried Seafood Platter and Buffalo Chicken Tenders looked great as well. Highly recommended.

Decided to try this place Saturday with my wife and some friends , service was not bad in the beginning 3 of us ordered the same 28$ plate which was the medley bake and needless to say it was not what we expected the lobster tail was cut into pieces the size of shrimp maybe 2 1/2 shrimp ) and felt like it was out already cooked on a plate for a day the shrimp was so so the sea scallops were still frozen in the center the only thing that was warm was the side dish of mashed potatoes, saw the server maybe 2 times thru out the whole experience, place was not that busy , we came there hungry and left hungry , they took some money off the bill but we still tipped our waitress 20% on the original bill. Would not recommend trying this place out if your hungry very disappointing
