Eat out at Chez Vachon quite often . Never unsatisfied until I tried the pork pie. I'm french and make pork pies for thanksgiving. We'll never order the pork pie again. Pie was very mooshy, not lean at all. Not sure if maybe they put it through a blender but will never order the pork pie again.

There’s something special about finding a place that feels like home — not just in flavor, but in spirit. Chez Vachon in Manchester, NH, brought me right back to the old days when families would gather after church for Sunday breakfast, sharing laughter and stories over steaming cups of coffee and hearty plates of comfort food.
The food itself was nothing short of excellent — true French Canadian delicacies made with care and authenticity. The poutine tasted exactly like the kind my French Canadian dad makes, rich and savory with perfectly crisp fries and just the right amount of gravy and cheese curds. The crêpes were light, tender, and authentic, while the pancakes and eggs were as comforting and satisfying as a homemade breakfast should be.
But what really made the visit memorable was the nostalgia that seemed to hang in the air. It felt like stepping back in time — to an era when Sunday mornings meant seeing familiar faces, chatting with neighbors, and lingering over breakfast just a little longer. That sense of community, so rare today, was alive and well at Chez Vachon.
Our waitress, Amanda, was absolutely wonderful — one of the best we’ve ever had. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm, making us feel like old friends she’d been serving for years, even though it was our first visit.
We loved the experience so much that we’ve made it a new tradition — returning every Sunday, just like in the good old days. Chez Vachon isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a reminder of what Sunday mornings used to feel like — and thankfully, still can.

Poutine with bacon. Need I say more?! YES! Chez Vachon gives you a Pizzeria Steve (Stanstead Quebec) feel inside, with coffee that is better than the competition!

I'm half French-Canadian - my blood became part gravy when I finished after taking two sittings to finish 😂

Whether you're French-Canadian or just looking for good food, it is truly a welcoming place for all. Loved the blue dishware & heavy duty mug too. Merci!

We had such a great experience here! Our server was fantastic, super friendly, and had the brightest smile that instantly made us feel welcome. Service was quick and so attentive the whole time. I had the crepes with strawberries (absolutely delicious!) and my husband got the poutine. The portions were huge and everything tasted amazing. We left completely full and happy. Definitely coming back! 🍓🍴

Holy moly what a great breakfast place. We were stunned by the selection and the execution. Great breakfast food - not gourmet, but excellently prepared meals overall. We would return over and over if local. Service was excellent and attentive.

If you are looking for a great breakfast, this is your place. The prices are reasonable and the service was great. I had the cheese omelet wrap with hot Italian sausage. Delicious.

i’ve been going for crepes since i was young, i’ve traveled throughout europe and canada and these are still my absolute favorite!! don’t let the “chez” fool you—this place has cozy diner vibes, reasonable prices, and older people speaking quebecois-accented french. stop by if you haven’t already!

I’m born and raised in Quebec, the birthplace of poutine, and I solemnly swear that the poutine at Chez Vachon is as good, if not better than poutine I’d find at a typical roadside casse-croûte.

These folks sure know what they’re doing with french fries, cheese curds and gravy. The French heritage here is strong!
