Visited the Golden Rod for the first time yesterday. My family and I bought a fisherman's platter, and a chicken finger plate. The seafood was flavorful, well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and delicious. My wife and I commented that it was on par with similar establishments on the Cape. The chicken plate was equally as good, tender chicken, flavorful breading, as good as I have had in a while. The establishment lived up to its reputation, and we will definitely return.
My grandsons and daughter, her husband and I enjoyed the atmosphere AND our dinner before the show! My grandsons especially live trying new places and choosing from the menu on their own!
Spacious, easy to walk around in, fast food type offerings, chicken finger baskets with fries, burgers, club sammiches and darned good icecream. Portion sized are good. It tends to get crowded and difficult to get to the door as you either need to wade through or walk around the outside dairy bar lines.
