I am what you would describe as crazy about subs but very picky. The bread has to be fresh and the meat and cheese must be the best. Well, I just tried the old school Italian and I was so amazed with the taste of all the Italian meats and cheese coming together it was just short of being in heaven. There is plenty of meat. You have to try it. We’re going back for sure and I am 1 hour away! Debbie

Great subs! However, half the time I go there they are closed for vacation. (No exaggeration either)

Edit: Not just for those Feb. or Oct. vacations, but periodically throughout the year. Including the grueling summer. ?

I am a local and I hardly ever complain. I’ve been here twice recently and both time a bad experience. When I just called to tell the people working there over the phone about my complaint, they got extremely mad and hung up on me and said “now your going to listen to me talk” in a mean angry way. Just look at the responses from the owner on the other 1 star reviews, he is constantly fighting his customers!? They're a business and should listen to customers feedback especially when I just called to let you know how I just felt about my experience. They treated the woman in front of me very poorly saying “if you want coke there’s coke next door” - a very low way to speak to people and I did not like that. I don’t know what bug they have crawling up their sleeve but you guys need to work on your customer service. It was not pleasant and I will not return and also let others around me know about my experience there. I wish I didn’t have to post this publicly but the phone call clearly didn’t work because whoever I was speaking to hung up on me. You guys make everything look good but don’t make people feel good. God bless this business.

Excellent ? subs and service.
The owner was especially awesome and definitely knew how to make the perfect sub.
I wish I took a picture but we couldn't wait to eat it.
Also, they have lemon marscapone cake which is literally the best cake you will have.

We definitely recommend going!

We are locals that use to love coming in to get the bucket of meatballs. It was our favorite! Then one night we decided to get meatballs subs because we were going to a concert and wanted to tailgate before going in on a really hot night. It's always really hard trying to get here because they are always closed bye the time we get out of work. Any way I ordered a meatball as it is on the menu with ricotta and mozzarella cheese. My boyfriend orders his with pickles and provolone. The owner responded with NO I won't do that to my sub. Why won't you get it like her. He said I don't like it like her. He said no I will make it like hers and put pickles on the side you will eat it that way. I can't do that to my sub he said. First of all it our sub we are paying $30 for 2 sandwiches. We were so thrown back by his abrupt behavior and we were in a good mood to go to a concert we paid got our sandwiches and we will never pay to be treated like that. As we waited for our meatball sandwiches he treated everyone the same way. Insisted another customer get peppers on his sub. So the topping list next to the register is really not an option. Food is excellent if you can get past the register and the fighting behind the counter. I use to tolerate tolerate to support local but he is a little out of hand to tell me how to eat something I'm paying for.

With owner reply:
You can see he is always right. I've been a customer long enough to know you won't be changing this man. We proudly support local businesses who support their customers. Who get what they want when they order food they eat and pay for. We came into your business many many times to support you before you told us you would NOT be making sandwiches we paid for our way.

Meatball Sub is fantastic along with the roast beef. Recently they're carrying marinated steak tips and some pretty awesome dry aged beef.

Though I've driven past this shop many time, today was my first time stopping in to grab something to eat. Even by only briefly talking to the fellow behind the counter, I could tell the "Old School Italian" I was going to receive would be the "real deal" Italian sub. I was not disappointed. There's terrific flexibility with toppings and condiments. I ordered mine the way I grew up, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, black olives, oregano, salt, pepper, oil, and vinegar. What I received was of very high quality and well assembled. I could tell the roll was very good, learning it was from Piantadosi Baking, in Malden, MA, which I know well and regard highly. Their rolls are most similar to those my father's bakery produced many years ago. The flavors were great. What's also great is my sub was sliced in two, and each half was individually wrapped. A nice "extra touch!"

In addition to sandwiches, they offer a host of other items. Extra bonus, I picked up a couple monstrous cans of imported Italian San Marzano tomatoes which will go into a batch of "Sunday Sauce" soon.

I'm certain I'll return when I'm in the area again. Next time, I'll likely order the exact same sandwith, perhaps with a little more oregano, oil, and vinegar so as to best match the flavor I grew up with. Without a doubt, a rare "keeper" of an Italian sandwich in New Hampshire.

We split steak and cheese & turkey sub stuffed with veggies. Steak and cheese was good. Turkey sub hit it out of the park. Quality ingredients, felt good after. We'll definitely be back.

This place is lovely, elegant in its simplicity. Just a good old fashioned sandwich counter, with a touch of modernity by the televisions with music playing at just the right volume that its audible but not assaulting your ears.
The staff is friendly and helpful, while also being quick to get your food out. The beautiful display of different confections caught my eye, Im hesitant to try their carrot or triple chocolate cake because I feel like Ill immediately become addicted. Lastly I would highly reccomend trying the "sweet chicken curry" sub, easily one of the best subs Ive ever tried and I will surely return for it again. You WILL NOT be disappointed!

Kid-friendliness: The lobby in front of the counter is about 12x20 so your little one isnt going far.

Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level with wide enogh doors to accomedate a normal size chair.
