1st I was told not to go here. Bad ownership bad service etc. I had a gift card, my parents live up here, father's day weekend ok let's use the gift card. Soooooo we went. Amazing service. Mark the bartender was above and beyond. Very personable, funny, interactive. The drinks were great, the food was outstanding. The tab expensive, but hello if you Google the place your going you're prepared. I'm impressed. I'd much rather have the expensive tab and the amazing food, drinks and great bartender than a cheap meh experience. I loved it. We'll be back!
Love this place. Toni and Mark in Bar side are spot on. Treat us like Family. I’ve been going for years and never had a bad meal or bad service. We make this our go to for any celebration 😎😎
Why does the man in oversized suits still work there? Negative, condescending, rude, unfriendly, I could seriously keep going. Reading all the other reviews I’m assuming his name is Greg and other people don’t seem to enjoy him either. So what’s up with that?
So my wife and I used to go to the woodshed back before it burnt down. Loved it Never had a bad experience atmosphere was awesome staff was awesome. We just left there and I have to say I will not return. We drove 2.5 hours just to go there. I ordered 2 Maine lobster tails and my wife ordered queen cut prime rib. She was disappointed that it was tough and very small the potatoes were cold and we swapped because she got my baked and I got her mashed. My baked was cold along with the tails. Service was sub par my waitress was more interested with talking to the gentleman behind me as to when she took my plate she didn’t even ask if I wanted desert or a coffee she just snatched it up and walked away while speaking to the person in the next table. This is not fine dining but has the price tag to suggest it. Sorry guys you dropped the ball tonight.(As a side note as I have read other reviews ranging from 1 month to 4 years old I’m getting the feeling that this review will not make any difference seeing it’s almost a regurgitated one that has already been done. ) but who knows
I editing this because I have read almost all the reviews on here. The condescending tone of the person that responds to these is just plain typical. We serve he best oooookkkk I’ve had better prime rib at Arby’s I’m a fine dining guy have been to many many places that are truly fine dining. This place doesn’t even hold a candle to Outback. Riding the coattails of the true woodshed that burnt down. And yes you can recreate that it’s called service excellence which you have none. Snobby environment i probably should have expected it seeing the area. I’m still mad that I went here. And the old lady that said something about my wife’s shirt take it down a notch with the nose in the air. And to the guy that makes the generic I’m sorry that you had a bad experience. Stop it and make it better. No one cares about how sorry you are after spending a few hundred dollars. And you could give 2 s—-s how they feel. Post Covid has allowed the bad to get worse with no repercussions.

Great atmosphere with old barn-wood. Server and staff were attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the chef (or cook) is just out of line prep cafeteria school. House and Caesar salad were fresh, flavorful and decently prepared. The main entrees of Halibut had moist but somewhat tasteless flavor, while the stuffed shrimp were either a microwaved frozen Costco item at best or perhaps a re heated left over from Red Lobster. Overall- least enjoyable dining experience of our NE trip. Felt bad for the friendly and attentive wait staff

Beautiful New England atmosphere. All the food was excellent. Specialty is steak. Prime rib was very good. It is upscale, so expect to spend at least $75-$100 per person.

We love the New Woodshed. We just left dinner there and it did not disappoint! Every-time we plan a visit up here we always make sure to include the New Woodshed. The food is top notch ! The steaks are high quality . I’ve been to some of the finest restaurants in Boston and nothing compares. We love the ambiance , it’s super clean and a pleasant place to come for a fine dining experience in the lakes region . Greg ,Tory and their staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome . They are very attentive to everything . I am not sure why some people have negative things to say about Greg and his team . As most people know some people are unreasonable and impossible to make happy . Greg has always been kind and pleasant . Greg and Tory are always walking around checking on all the tables . We can’t wait for our next trip back .

Overpriced dinner for two at the bar. Excellent service, delicious food. With tax & tip, over $100 for one glass of wine, two salads each with salmon. We saw our neighbors on the way out; they had a similar experience.

General manager hates kids and is rude.
Do NOT go to this restaurant!! The owner is exceedingly rude and disgruntled. I had a meal there recently with my extended family coming in from out of town. My son laughed at a joke a little too loud and the owner preceded to come to our table and chastise us. After the meal, I approached him and he essentially said if we had a problem with it, we did not have to come back. Disgusting and utter lack of class. We will never go here again and I suggest, if you have kids, you shouldn’t either.

We recently had dinner at the New Woodshed and were very disappointed in the food that was served to all 6 of us. Our dinners were presented all together and each and everyone one was cold. One steak should have been Medium and it was rare. Vegetables were cold to touch and potatoes were room temperature. Staff and manager responded quickly and the food was reheated. We have frequented this establishment many times and was very surprised by the lack of accountability. No explanation was given and no compensation. With the bill over $700 we all believe the manager should have at least compensated us in some way. Our waiter, Huntington was wonderful. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this establishment.

I could not have been more disappointed by our experience at The Woodshed last week. The service was ridiculously slow; we waited for a very long time at every stage of our meal. For the two of us who ordered beef, one was completely undercooked, the other overcooked. The drinks we ordered were described in the menu as “not too sweet” and they were so sweet we had to send them back. Every step of the way the wait person acted as though we were an imposition. Everyone at our table was totally polite and tolerant of our experience and in the end agreed how terrible it was. As we left we spoke to the manager about our disappointment and while he verbalized an apology he seemed anything but sorry. I left feeling very embarrassed as I had wanted to create a special night out with my friends who were visiting from out of town and instead we got a bad attitude. This restaurant seems to be wanting to be a high caliber restaurant and is missing the mark on so many levels. I probably won’t ever go back.
