I recently visited Empanellie’s and was absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and the warmth of the service. This small, locally-owned spot is a true gem, and I’m so glad I discovered it. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a friendly smile and the wonderful aroma of freshly baked empanadas.

The menu offers a wide variety of empanada flavors, both savory and sweet. I tried several, including the beef and cheese, chicken with cilantro, and the spinach and feta—and every single one was delicious. The crust was perfectly golden and flaky, and the fillings were flavorful, well-seasoned, and satisfying. I also appreciated that each empanada was clearly labeled, which made it easy to keep track of what I was trying.

For dessert, I had the guava and cream cheese empanada, and it was absolutely heavenly. Sweet but not overly sugary, with a perfect balance of flavors. I also tried their iced coffee, which was smooth and refreshing.

What really made the experience special was how personal it felt. The owner clearly takes pride in the food and makes you feel like a valued guest. I can’t wait to come back and try more varieties. Highly recommended!

For a quick weeknight dinner, I stopped by Empanellie’s. While browsing the menu, I decided to try the jibarito - a sandwich made with flattened plantains instead of bread, filled with lettuce, tomato, and a choice of protein ($14). I picked the euphemistically named “steak,” which turned out to be ground beef that wasn’t even well-browned.

The combination of lettuce, tomato, and simply seasoned ground beef tasted a bit too much like a Crunchwrap Supreme. Fresher and twice the size, sure - but still within that same flavor palette.

Even the fried green plantains, which should’ve added some texture, had steamed into mild sogginess from the foil wrap, despite me ordering it for dine-in.

Maybe I’ll try the Cubano or the empanadas next time. The jibarito was fine, but definitely overhyped here and on Google Reviews.

They offer variety of empanadas, including dessert-type. We tried one stuffed with pastelon and it was very good. We also tried an alcapurria stuffed with pork and rice and it was filling and delicious, Not greasy.

Always ready with a display of every empanada you could think of. And recently they added a buffet which is choice. Great prices and cool atmosphere if you want to chill or if you want to get in and out on the go.

Stopped in on a whim and wow we were blown away! The empanadas are amazing! Had a chicken and cheese, it had moist chicken and melted cheese inside with the right amount of seasoning with a crispy crunch. The taco empanada was really yummy. The fried plantain was awesome too! The dessert empanada was delicious as well, had a raspberry and a dos dulce cream. Both amazing! Really nice staff and everything was made hot, fresh and fast. I wish I took photos. Definitely will return here soon.

I returned and had some Tre Leches cake, Tostones, and a Boston cream empanada. I was able to hold off long enough to actually take a picture. All were absolutely amazing! I can’t recommend enough!
