For a quick and early Saturday dinner, I stopped by Pho Tai Loc. At 5pm, seating remained plentiful. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet ($14.95), the quintessential bowl of pho with everything in it.
The stock seemed quite flavorful. No skimping on boiling down bones. It didn't possess too much in the way of aromatics, but had copious amounts of black pepper (which I quite enjoyed). Also, the bowl came out hot enough such that adding bean sprouts did not sap the meal of heat.
The pho places in Dorchester could learn from this place. I'd rather come here than go to that overrated street and get mediocre pho that the community gaslit itself into thinking it's ok.

I stopped by to get pho for dinner. The restaurant reeks of nicotine smell and emptied. The entrance is surrounded by homeless people. Not a safe place to dine in.
Delicious pho and perfect spring rolls!

I ordered the #9 beef brisket pho and a thai tea to go after flying in from San Francisco for work. I was feeling under the weather and wanted something comforting and that reminded me of the bay, and I was not disappointed. Although I didn’t love the texture of the boba in the thai tea, I enjoyed the overall flavor and the pho hit the spot. Friendly owners and a cute neighborhood spot!

The food is amazing, and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was also upbeat and energetic on the bar side, though empty in the late afternoon. It seems like a fun place to go on a weekend evening.

I enjoyed this tournament but the bathroom was a little scary. It reminded me of the backrooms

Can only speak to the chicken noodle soup, big piping hot bowl, perfect if you're sick, with lots of sliced chicken, even if they were a bit dry and tough. Very flavorful, lots of noodles, you will be full for your $15.maybe not the best pho around but it certainly does the job. Like that the drinking water is ice cold without there even being ice in it. Very small dining room, your conversation will be heard. They should get a sign that's a different color from the subsidized housing next door.
The last few visits have been quite disappointing. It seems like the quality has gone downhill substantially.
Food Quality: The dishes that were once bursting with authentic flavors now taste bland and uninspired. The pho, which used to be rich and aromatic, now lacks depth and no longer tastes fresh The ingredients seem to be of lower quality.
Service: The service has also deteriorated. The staff used to be friendly and attentive, but now they seem disinterested and slow. This is a family business, or it used to be. I'm not sure anymore, but its disappointing to see it deteriorate.
Cleanliness: Cleanliness has become a concern as well. The tables are often sticky, and the restrooms are not well-maintained. This was never an issue before, and it's quite off-putting.
Atmosphere: The once vibrant and welcoming atmosphere feels neglected. The overall ambiance is no longer inviting.
It's really sad to see a place that I once enjoyed so much decline in this way. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements to bring back the quality and charm that made Pho Tai Loc a favorite.
