My friends and I dined at Salt around a large dining table with a lazy Susan making it easy to share apps. James was our waiter for dinner and he was a lot of fun. The staff was just so congenial. We really loved it.

I went here for my birthday breakfast as the guest of my friend. It wasn't very busy, so they were able to accommodate us with a table by the window. Very nice. Our server couldn't have been warmer. The avocado toast with salmon and the Benedict with salmon were both excellent. The coffee was very high quality. They surprised me with a surprise birthday gift of a blueberry muffin with a candle. They don't take reservations, so they scrambled to make my birthday breakfast very pleasant and memorable. Will return.

We’ve been here many times and I’m only now compelled to give a review, thinking the previous visits were a fluke. This past year, we visited in May 2025, July 2025, and this past weekend, frequenting Salt for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was delicious each day (other than my over easy eggs coming with clear, runny whites (I expected the yokes, but not a good part of the white, has happened before too). The dinners though, terribly overpriced for what they were. We were a large party in July for dinner and the wait was insanely long and the food was just bad, dry crab crakes, a grease laden soggy Margherita pizza for my 12 year old, dry and overcooked salmon along with another overcooked steak. This past weekend they were out of four dishes. You’re paying for the atmosphere here, oh and the hostess is the shining star of the restaurant, she’s basically the saving grace of the place. Their menu needs a refresh, they need to be more allergy aware and they need a decent chef for dinner (and this was a Saturday night - prime time). The ambiance and convenience are the reasons we’ve given this place so many chances. Another note, no Sunday brunch during winter months…

Food was good, but very overpriced. It took a long time for the food to come out. We had nothing else to do though, so we just waited but that needs to be better for the atmosphere and caliper they are trying to be at. Server Chris was ok. Not super attentive, but that's probably because we are sober and didn't get a drink menu. We find if we don't order alcohol, we don't get the same service as of we did drink (generally at most restaurants). Wouldn't go out of our way to dine there if we were in the area again.

Dinner at Salt was fantastic, we had the pork Milanese. Ate at the bar with Tim. He was attentive and the drinks were great!

We stopped-in for a pre-lunch before lunch & could not have been happier: Prime bar seating, chatted w Ex Chef Lee Michael and his protege’ Emy; Super friendly and talented. Sarah Beth (*?) took carte of our order and was quick on the draw with ice tea and super-friendly service. Also: Chowder was absolutely delicious.

Food can only be described as spectacular, really very very good. Maybe because I'm English but I really object to breakfast tables being set up while I'm trying to enjoy dinner. Service is very slow but the food makes up for this. I think there are some cultural differences as no one else seemed to be bothered that someone was setting up breakfast tables during dinner although it was not what I would have expected and my rating is based on that largely.

For our 43rd Anniversary (it's today the 28th but we celebrated last night), we visited Salt at The Wentworth for THE FIRST TIME! We usually do the holiday celebrations there but have not eaten dinner.

First call out, because she made the evening SO lovely, is to our server Julia! Seriously, if you make a reservation, request her - I cannot say enough positive things about Julia.

We went at 5:30 with reservations (you need them) by 6:30 it was packed.

As for our meals, WOW. I'll let the photos speak for themselves with just a couple of comments.

Lobster Bisque - if I was alone, I would have LICKED THE BOWL.
Lobster Fettuccine - first photo is pretty, started eating/stirring and then found this MASSIVE claw on the bottom - there was already A LOT of lobster meat and when I found the claw I thought - bummer, it's really big and will be tough - IT WAS NOT, and it was delicious.
Mushroom Bucatini - this is the dish to get if you love mushrooms, it was so creamy and delicious!
Pasta for each dish was fresh and cooked perfectly.
I RARELY order dessert - just share whatever Jim gets but I ordered my own.
Jim got the Alaskan Campfire - it had a massive marshmallow toasted on top, amazing ice cream, hot fudge, and flourless chocolate cake!
I got the Not Quite a Brownie Sundae - just WOW. The cannoli ice cream was CRAZY GOOD. Cherry compote was PERFECT.

Price: $$$ - $$$$ but honestly, for a celebration it was worth every penny. We will definitely go back.

I’ve lived in New Hampshire half of my life, but had not been to the Wentworth for dinner. I am so silly what an amazing treat. Our server, James was attentive without being overwhelming. We sat in a beautiful part of the dining with a painted ceiling mural, which was spectacular. The food was divine. We started with a strawberry rhubarb brie and wow, what a pallet pleaser. We had some unique cocktails that were fun to look at and delicious to drink their presentations or spectacular and totally matched the flavors that came together with your meal. As for cost, although it is in a place, I would take young kids or go with somebody. I don’t really care about. It is definitely affordable in my opinion. When I go out to eat, it’s not for convenience. It’s for experience. I don’t mind paying extra when the food the drink drinks and the service are so spectacular.

We have been coming to the Wentworth over the last 5 years and have seen Salt evolve from mediocre to stellar. The food has really upgraded and the service is much better especially during the dinner shift.

This should have been less then a 4 star but every other visit has been enjoyable.
This visit to Salt was nothing short of frustrating. James, our server, delivered one of the poorest dining experiences we've had in a long time. From start to finish, his timing was completely off — drinks were delayed, and food arrived cold (actually mocked me when I said my drink came 30 minutes late) I actually started a timer before dinner because my water glass had been empty for so long (33 minutes with a timer set not including my old fashion taking over 25 minutes ), and still no refill. When our meals were finally served, I expected at least a quick check-in or a water top-off. Instead, James vanished for another 15+ minutes. Completely unacceptable.
As for the food, it was a complete miss. The steak came out cold, and the pork chops were barely warm — a huge disappointment, especially considering Salt's usual standards.

To be clear, this experience is not reflective of what Salt is capable of. We’ve hosted three large events here (25+ guests each time), and they’ve all been outstanding. But this particular night was a disaster from service to execution, and it left us walking away more than just disappointed — it left us second-guessing whether we’d return for anything less than a private event.
