It was our first time at Salt and it was great! We started with the focaccia, then had the salmon and steak bowl for dinner, and had the smores and butter cake sundae for dessert. The food was great and the desserts were very creative. The service was really stellar. Our sever Julia was lovely and she checked in on us an appropriate amount. The manager also stopped by which was kind. They were very busy and still took their time with us. The atmosphere is nice with big windows to look out at the sunset. I would definitely come back!
Solo dining in the Lounge area. A great spot for fine dining and relaxing. Maine Beer Co. on draft, PEI Mussels, Salmon entree and a Double Espresso. A wonderful experience. I highly recommend this location for Ocean Front and out of the way comfort.
Wonderful classy restaurant and Jackson , the waiter took very good care of us. And the food was delicious
Very good food and excellent service. Noise does tend to travel when sitting under the dome section of the room. I would definitely eat here again.
My husband and I have been coming to the Easter and Mothers day brunch for the past few years...it has been a wonderful experience overall. The setting, decorations and seating all very nice. It has become obvious over the past couple of times that things were changing and not for the better. The food selections became more limited, the atmosphere much less festive and staffing was limited. We just attended the mothers day brunch this past Sunday and it was really a disappointment...the food selections were much more limited... the food stations were empty and not well maintained and food was cold. The atmosphere of the hotel is beautiful but the brunch itself is suffering. The waffle station was a mess...maple syrup everywhere and not alot of choices, just muffins. We love coming here and drive quite a distance to get here but after this last event we would really hesitate making the trip. It is 100.000 dollars per person and it is no longer worth that. I hated writing this review but I hope someone will listen. This really was a special place for us and it is a shame that even in the past few years it has suffered such a decline.Cheryl.
Modern, classy, fancy atmosphere with delicious food and cocktails. Went for lunch and dinner when staying at the hotel and the service was fantastic. Scallops and steak frites were scrumptious as well as their signature cocktails. Definitely a splurge meal price wise, but worth it.
Always great service and wonderful food.
Our first time and we will be back. Great lunch and amazing value on Portsmouth restaurant week. Thanks
When they fill your martini to the brim and it spills as you are trying to sip it and they literally kick you out when you are staying in a suite.
We waited 15 minutes to be served. Then 15 minutes for our drinks. Then 15 minutes to order. Then 15 minutes to get the meat ball appetizer, which came without bread or rolls, without spoons for the sauce, without grated cheese. The 30 minute wait for entrees. The food is good. The service was awful. The prices far too high-- $100 without any alcohol, just soda. I had 6 raviolis and my husband had 2 fish tacos. Beautiful hotel and location. But one and done visit for us.

The restaurant and bar have a great atmosphere. The service however is pretty poor, despite being there on a very slow night. It took over 5 minutes for someone to even greet us and then another 15 for someone to take a drink order. We ordered espresso martini's and they were each $20...prices are very high. Good atmosphere at an historic, iconic place, but service was not good for an order so simple. There are also many other places around with better martinis.

Everything was excellent, but the pastry chef is in a whole other league!

Never waited a half-hour before for my order, including an expensive bottle of wine, to be taken. I daresay the nearest Applebee's would be more responsive. Paying $700 for a room I expected more.

Great food, but wish they had more vegetarian or vegan options. Can get loud and there is a weird sound acoustic thing if you sit under the dome. Fun to eavesdrop on other tables I guess.
Parking: Plenty of parking around the hotel.
