Stopped in to have some breakfast this morning. I had the oatmeal that cooked perfectly and full of fresh apples, dried fruits, and nuts. Delicious! My wife had the breakfast sandwich with sausage, fresh tomato slices, and a hint of pesto on a freshly baked biscuit. She loved it! Top that off with two cups of great coffee, and you've got a perfect breakfast. Everyone was really nice and friendly, and the space was tidy and clean. P.S. We also bought a loaf of their sourdough bread. I can safely say it's the best tasting, lightest and airy sourdough I've ever had!

Now on their third ? week, a pleasant atmosphere cafe with a great window view, outdoor seating and relaxing music ? playing over the ? speakers.I ordered the egg ? sandwich on a biscuit with tomato. Tasted good, though it fell apart. I then had a coffee ☕ with a big blueberry muffin and a read of the Sunday ? newspaper. A good breakfast! I was invited back ?, thx!The pancake was WOW! It smelled soo good! A fellow customer commented positively on it! Served in a hot skillet with fruit ? and whipped cream, it was a pleasure to eat! No "Hom nom nom!" The chef told me he added a little nutmeg and lemon ? zest for flavor.Bathroom was in good shape. People commented positively on the interior. AC inside.Food is pricey, but, it's a small business in New Castle dealing with inflation. They have a good size drink selection and I hope they can add orange ? or cranberry juice ?. Large candy selection. Sandwiches for sale as well.Korean BBQ Mushroom sandwich ? was good!I recommend a visit, though go early. You are a stone's throw from New Castle attractions.Get the email ? alerts. Brioche French Toast, a special not on the regular menu. Yum!Update: January 2024; Islander Dutch Baby! is very good ?! Classic crullers from Lil's Cafe are available here.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available.Dietary restrictions: Glutten free options available.Parking: Limited cafe parking ?️ directly in front, but, parking ?️ available on the street.Kid-friendliness: Family oriented cafe. Not certain about child booster seat .Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible.

1st stop after a detour to see the "islands" during a road trip from Boston 2-wks prior. Tight quarters with a local vibe; they LIVE HERE!. Roll with it and enjoy the FOOD. 3 Islander Dutch Babys and coffees to die for. Lovely sightseeing area; so take your time. See you soon!Parking: 3 or 4 spots in front of the Islander. On street parking if you can squeeze it. And parking by the Coast Guard base/lighthouse a block walk away.

Update as my initial review didn't seem to take:The Islander is simply our favorite go-to for breakfast and lunch. The staff is exceptional - kind and helpful and talented - the food and drink are top-notch and the atmosphere is bright and inviting. Can't say enough good things about this place and we hope it has a LONG and happy future.

Very nice little place. The almond croissants are delicious and big enough to share but I recommend taking half home (you know you'll want it later). I would have preferred my coffee a little hotter. I haven't tried their other food but it looked very good. My server was very pleasant.
