The food, like the service, was tepid at best. We had lobster mac & cheese, pizza, kid’s hot dog, a salad, and seafood chowder. We were basically the only ones in there (two other parties) and our waitress never came back to check on us- I had to get up to ask for a refill on my drink and extra napkins because she was MIA. There were also flies all throughout the restaurant. Will never go back. For over $100, you are better off going somewhere else.

Nothing overly exciting. We got a burger and veggie burger which were good.

My fish and chips was overcooked. The waitress that took our order had a sad face all the time and only checked with us only once.
The onion soup was cold and couldn't separate the cheese.

7/17/25–Today, our friends spent their last morning at our rented lake house. He decided to meet his cousin at the Peter Christian Pub, so we tagged along. Since lunch was around 12 p.m., I considered it a gift from heaven. We drove through winding roads and finally made it there. The food was delicious! He insisted we try their mustard sauce, claiming it was the best, and I have to say, it was pretty amazing. I enjoyed my burger and fries—usually, I don’t eat these things, but hey, when you’re at a pub, you’ve got to go with the flow, right? And the beef stew? Hands down, the best I’ve ever had

First time here. I got the stuffed lobster ravioli and my husband had the baked seafood platter both were excellent. We will definitely go back.

We stayed at the hotel, so that was why we ate there. The food was pretty expensive for what you got. We sat outside which was very nice. Our server was nice, but he never even offered or tried to refill our drinks. Could of been worse, but definitely could of been better.

We have been coming for over 40 years, first in Hanover and New London in the late 60’s. We often talk about it as one of our favorite! We live about 2 hours away in Wolfeboro but still come here! This time we were disappointed! All the little things we loved had disappeared! It is just another restaurant! No pretzels with mustard on table, trivia cards on table, names of the sandwiches, mine was Peter’ Russian mistress, warm cider, just the unique atmosphere was gone! We named our boy Christian, 47 years ago! That’s how much we loved the place! We evened opened a restaurant and always has you restaurant in mind! We have lots of old friends that feel the same!

Amazing food, friendly staff. My go-to when in the area. Little pricey but big portions and high quality food…don’t mind spending extra for this

I grew up with the Hanover PC's , so I felt a little sad that there wasn't more from the old days on the menu. I felt that it was very expensive, but know food costs are going up all the time.

A neat little spot right in the middle of New London. The shepherds pie and wedge salad are quite good as is the French Dip. Speaking of French, the French Onion Soup is done right here. The broth is packed with onions while not being overly salty or bland. Staff are friendly and helpful even when it's busy. The service is usually quick, but bear in mind it does her busy since it's one of just a couple sit down restaurants in town with table service.
It has been remodeled, which is nice, but some of the ambience that made it feel like an old time New England tavern style eatery. They did keep some of those old tables with the high walls around them. If you're going for that old school colonial vibe, you'll be disappointed since from the outside it looks modern and trendy.
They offer standard pub/tavern items. Nothing stands out or is unique, but it's good. The bacon was sparse on the wedge salad as was the red onion.
Serving sizes are plenty, unless you're looking for a giant meal.
I'd recommend it, but if you remember it from before the remodel, you may be a little disappointed like I was.

I came into the restaurant last week for lunch and drinks since I was in the area, and I initially wasn’t going to leave this review but given recent events I thought I would. I was greeted by this young lady with purple hair and I thought her smile was just infectious. I wish waitstaff at every restaurant had a genuine smile like that. She sat me at my table and let me know my server would be with me shortly. My server greeted me, took my order and was on her way. She didn’t check in as much as she should have and she didn’t seem as enthusiastic as a server should.
Later on, I overheard the girl who greeted me at the door talking with somebody about how she was outed by one of the other girls about ‘body odor.’ Personally, I didn’t think she stunk at all. Matter of fact, she smelt like the same perfume my daughter uses. I ended up stopping her on my way out and put my opinion in, before I had left I had passed along my daughters contact information since I had been on the phone with her when all that went down, and she didn’t think it was right either. My daughter and her have been talking the last week and come to find out, the manager let her go. That same day I had stopped in she had to leave to get her daughter baby formula. I’m unsure of the relevance, but the manager claimed it was “because the business has decided to go a different route with staffing”
After witnessing how poorly the staff treats their employees, especially someone as young as her with two children, I will not be going back.
