Always a treat to dine at the Elms, a standard now for my family. Not been disappointed by the dishes or cocktail menu. A lot of variety for people eating specific diets. Even the mocktails are great. Easy to make it casual (burgers) or more upscale (octopus).

Hotel restaurant. First time here. Plenty of off street parking. Classy decor and comfortable seating. Looks like you can wear casual or dress up. Waitresses wear a Tshirt and jeans so don’t stress what you wear. Good for large parties. Takes reservations on Resy. I started with the oysters. Beyond knowing there were oysters on the menu and where from, the waitress did not have a description for me but did go ask the kitchen. I was told medium size oysters and moderate Briny flavor. They were very good. However, I would call them small not medium. Price could have been better for the size. The octopus appetizer taste was absolutely amazing with perfect tenderness and grill flavor. NOT shareable and honestly very tiny so again, overpriced at $18. Entrees are fairly priced. My husband was delighted over the tavern steak. It was a little undercooked per our request for medium but they will take it back if needed. He ate it anyway and said it was outstanding. I had the salmon dish and it was superb. Cocktails and wine fairly priced. Mixed drinks w a smaller pour. For desert the crème brûlée did not disappoint. Our waitress was not the best but from what I could see, the other waitresses were very attentive. Food 5/5. My service and some overpriced items gave it a 4/5.

Place was a great stop. Had the summer squash casserole and that was way better than expected. Drinks were perfect. Definitely a stop worth stopping at!

We went in for a quick bite to eat before our play. With a full house, the Elm was very accommodating and sat us in the lounge and took care of us expeditiously. We were very pleased with our food and service. We will definitely revisit.

Very tasty and creative cocktails. Seasonally changing menu taking advantage of in-season produce. All dishes were prepared perfectly, seasoned deliciously and presented well. Small touches in each dish elevated the taste and overall eating experience--for example, a bed of house pickled jalapeños and perfectly salty+chewy cheese crisp added variety and depth to a common appetizer.

Had their peach barrata arugula salad and crab cake sandwich. Both were delicious, the best crab cake I've had in a long time. Lots of lump crab and minimal fillers.

We made the trip from Brattleboro, VT to New London, NH for an event at Colby-Sawyer College and decided to try Elms Restaurant and Bar — and wow, we’re so glad we did!
The entire experience was top-notch. We started with fresh, perfectly shucked oysters that set the tone for an incredible meal. The steak was cooked to perfection, the burger was juicy and flavorful, and the crème brûlée was the ideal sweet ending. Every dish was prepared down to the T — we honestly hadn’t had food this good in a long time.
The drinks were equally impressive — well-crafted and delicious. The atmosphere was cozy yet upscale, with a welcoming vibe that made us want to linger. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind.
We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Elms is truly a hidden gem in New London and absolutely worth the drive!

We had not been to the latest iteration of the restaurant at the New London Inn until this past April. My sons and spouses flew in from out of state and made the reservations for a birthday celebration. The first thing we noticed was the drastic change in decor. It now has an industrial look with one dark color to offset the whites of the tablecloths. They replaced all the warm Woodglow light fixtures with spartan metal ones, not a very inviting atmosphere. The menu was not large and the food was adequate, not something we would be clamoring for in any future visit. Finally, despite them knowing this was a birthday celebration, not even a cupcake with a candle was offered. Don't think we will be back anytime soon.

in the area for business and stayed at the inn attached to the Elms.
i looked at the menu online and was very intrigued. i was by myself and had a lot of time. Krystal was very patient as i really wanted to try everything on the menu, i won't say what all i had you will have to experience for yourself, but EVERYTHING i had was fantastic!!! one of the best menus i have seen in a long time. if you are anywhere remotely close don't miss out. now it's not cheap, but not excessive either, myself i don't mind paying if the food is worth it and it is. if you are looking for cheap head over to some chain that microwaves everything! i envy the folks that live nearby :)

We enjoy the atmosphere in the bar area. Cocktails and dinner at a high top, with great service. The lamb cottage pie is a new menu item and a real winner.
