I have food allergies so I was happy to see on Dad's website that they offer breakfast all day. When we got to the restaurant, I was told that breakfast ended at 11:30. The folks that I was with were able to order lunch but, unfortunately, there was nothing on the lunch menu that I could be sure I could safely order.

We stopped here after a nice hike and were super impressed. They were offering a free ham/prime rib dinner for Easter along with all the fixings and carrot cake, which was phenomenal, but we also ordered off the menu, which was great. They offer typical breakfast as well as traditional diner food such as burgers, hot dogs, and chicken tenders. The pulled pork mac and cheese was a huge hit, and the milk shakes were delicious. The prices were good and the staff were great!! The cook came out, brought us some of the food, and was very nice!! We were very impressed with the quality of his skills. I can definitely say he's going places.

Dad's is a local drive-in in our little town we go to for burgers and ice cream. They are usually only open in the summer, closing for the season after Columbus day.
But this year, they decided to stay open for the winter, and serve breakfast three days a week in their small indoor dining area. This is big news in Newport, NH because we don't have any good breakfast places. Mary Ann and I like to go out for breakfast on the weekend, so we decided to check it out this morning.
Now, as a diner afficionado, I'm pretty particular about my diner breakfasts, and I ask a lot of questions before I order. Are your omelets cooked on the flattop, or in an omelet pan? Are your home fries cooked in the fryer, or on the flattop?
The good news is, Dad's checked all the boxes, and we had a very good breakfast. The house baked wheat toast with house made orange marmalade was an unexpected treat. The only downside was weak coffee, but that's always a gamble at any diner. We will definitely be coming back!

I and my friends and family go to Dad's often as it has the best food around here!! The chicken salad roll is awesome! So are the chicken tenders and sweet potato fries! The mozzarella sticks are excellent with lots of yummy sauces to dip them in! JEAN - THIS IS A NEW REVIEW ON 9/7. THE LOBSTER ROLLS AND CORN CHOWDER WERE SO DELICIOUS! I COULD HAVE EATEN TWO OF THOSE LOBSTER ROLLS! THEY WERE SO GOOD! AND THE CORN CHOWDER WAS SOME OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD! MY SISTER AND I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR LOBSTER ROLLS AND CORN CHOWDER! I WOULD EAT AT DAD'S EVERYDAY IF I COULD AFFORD TO! JEAN I HOPE YOU SEE THIS REVIEW! I ADDED IT TO MY FIRST ONE as I couldn't seem to figure out where to add a new one.

Jean the lobster rolls were absolutely wonderful! My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed them! And the corn chowder! That was some of the best corn chowder I have had!

I had the fish and french fries and coleslaw. The fish was nice and crispy tender inside french fries were good and nicely cooked the coleslaw was okay. I will definitely order it again.

I enjoyed their food immensely. Stopped in there on the way to see my brother who lives in Claremont. I'm from Litchfield. Their food was fresh and very good and came out in a timely manner. We had two cheeseburgers with fries and a side of chicken tenders all of which did not disappoint. Would go there again when passing through again.

I remember as a kid when this was an A+W rootbeer. It still has the same feel of a time gone by. Great food, friendly service and happy customers mingling under the old awning. Check it out.
