Giving two stars because hostess and bartender were kind. Waiter Steven, AWFUL!!. Sat 5 mins w/o any acknowledgement - put wrong order in for mixed drinks - ketchup brought half way thru dinner - dirty dishes still on table when dessert was brought out. By the way, NOT busy.

We went to Decades for a second time this year, for their Tuesday dinner special. Now, we had gone there last year and the food was decent for the type of restaurant. After this year, I would never go there again. As I walked into the restaurant, the outside door was open in the kitchen and rap was blasting from within. I thought this was a bad sign. When we walked in the waitstaff asked if we had reservations, we did not, and they acted like it was trouble to accommodate us and showed us upstairs to a deserted dining room. We were seated right under a speaker and they played the worst music. Seriously? Love in an Elevator? For a family restaurant?! It was totally inappropriate for a family with small children and way too loud! However, we should have left when they brought us bread that was so stale it was hard. Onto the food, the portions were a good size except for the steak special, my husband left hungry. I got a pasta plate that looked like they slopped it on from a feeding trough. There was sauce baked on to the rim of my plate, and it was so hot, it had to have sat in an oven. It had no seasoning and no flavor, I couldn't even taste it. I would have been embarrassed to serve the food I received at Decades to anyone

Not a good as I expected. The service was slow and it was a Tuesday (not busy). The clam chowder was watery, and so was the ketchup. The steak & cheese sandwich and the scallops balsamic were very good. I wouldn't go back, but it was not the worst place.

Steak was phenomenal, But don't bother getting anything else!!! My husband ordered the NY Sirloin and enjoyed it. I ordered the surf & turf with stuffed shrimp & got 3 mini shrimp which were so overcooked I couldn't take a single bite, & the "stuffing" was a large palm sized round patty of unpalatable dry bland batter. Fries were pretty much taken out of the freezer & placed directly on our plates. Steak, wine, & server were great, everything else was far below satisfactory.

Joyce nad I finally made it to Decades. We went on Tuesday two for one night. She had baked fish and I had steak. The price was twenty two dollars for the both entrees. But what was better than the price was the taste of the food and the friendliness of the staff. Debbie was great checking on us and refilling my water glass. You really need a reservation to get in on a Tuesday, but joyce and i went down anyway. We were lucky because we arrived before the rush. We sat immeadately. We look forward to returning to Decades. I went here for my birthday this past weekend. This was my first time in North Conway and I wanted to experience some nice food. I cook a lot for myself and my spouse so I tend to be quite critical of places we eat at. My sentiment with food is: if I can make the same thing at home and if I can make it better then I should not be paying for it. Both my spouse and I hold to that because we have often been disappointed by going out to eat. Decades, however, leaves nothing to be desired. This is one of the best restaurants we have been to yet. Service is incredibly prompt and courteous. People in NH are nice but the staff at Decades are particularly nice. All meals are made from scratch so they will take a long time to get to you which is fine if you are not in a hurry as I was not. I ordered my meal and I even asked to combine mushrooms from a side dish into the potatoes from my main dish and the chef was nice enough to fulfill that request and also only charge us half of what the side dish would cost because he would not need to use as many mushrooms. Deserts, appetizers, drinks, staff, atmosphere, it was all perfect and outstanding. I don't say this about many places and I worked hard to find something, anything, wrong with Decades and I could not. Portions here are plentiful and prices are quite reasonable. I love Decades and can not wait to return here again.

This place is the definition of good old hospitality. So the last day of the snowboard trip my wife and I decide not to go boarding (I fell and she ran me over the day before with her board ramming into the back of my knee and bruising it). Anyways its Christmas day and we're in a small town with nothing to do all day. So we start watching some movies but then realize we need to leave the condo we rented and enjoy some of the town. The person at the front desk told us that Decades has a free Christmas buffet (with donations to go towards local children charities). We go there, get some food. It was a nice Thanksgiving type spread. Juicy turkey breast, mashed potatoes, mashed squash (I believe it was a mix of butternut, acorn and spaghetti), stuffing, and cranberry sauce. I had a beer (from some brewery thats in Portsmouth). I can't remember the name but it was an IPA. Personally I think it was a bad choice by me as it did not complement the food well. It was a good beer, but a porter or brown ale would of paired better. So then we got some of their pumpkin pie. It was pretty standard pie but good. What makes this meal and place a 5 star venue is how they treat everyone on Christmas. How they are open but don't charge a dime (just ask that you donate to the children's charity if you can)

I had an awesome dinner at Decades. First, they are known for their oversized martinis & steak. The martinis are not huge, but they are a little bigger than most. We had a group of 6 and were seated upstairs, which made for groups. The tables seat more people and a further apart than downstairs. Downstairs is crowded & noisy, but upstairs was nice. We started with a nice, fluffy bread, and then followed with flavorful buffalo wings & the best calamari ever. The batter was light & flavored with pepper. The calamari just melted in your mouth. I tried some of my sister's lobster bisque, which was great. I had the baked stuffed haddock, which was covered with a lobster sauce. It was excellent. The others in my group enjoyed their meals as well. Also, the menu states that the biggest size is a 16 oz sirloin, but they will go bigger if you ask. Desserts were simple, creme brulee, which I don't eat, but was told it was excellent, and a huge brownie sundae, which between 6 of us we couldn't finish. Service was extremely friendly & professional. Definately can't wait to go back.
