Staying at hotel so we went for the buffet breakfast, food was good and the had everything from soup to nuts, but only scrambled eggs cooked perfectly. Don’t believe David’s review about being a little expensive, I’m thinking he doesn’t get out much for breakfast. Breakfast is $15.95 as advertised. Any restaurant charges that for just an omelette.

Made the mistake of eating there tonight for the first and last time. 2 of us ordered the "special". It was lobster ravioli. Lobster was overcooked, the wine cream sauce tasted like Alfredo, and the dishes had been sitting a while before being served - not hot at all. Another ordered the chicken sandwich. Her lettuce was brown/old? Coleslaw also looked bad - sent back. Another ordered the child's chicken tenders. Also extremely overcooked. Received our salads with our meal? Only 1 child was happy. The other 4 people wished they ate somewhere else.

Got mozzarella sticks, a burger, salad, and drinks. Our server Romaine was fantastic, possibly the best we have ever had. He was very attentive and polite. The food was great as well as the drinks. (Edit) Got an old fashioned with knob creek, and it was delicious. If you are a fan of old fashioneds I would definitely try one. Their version has an exciting twist.

The service was great, we ordered takeout. The chili was not bad, the steak and cheese sandwich and fries were terrible. No flavor and cold. Super gross. Quality of steak was

The breakfast buffet was pretty good, not sure why the reviews are so low. Service was great.

Overpriced for really bad food and terrible service. $12 for cold kraft mac and cheese is unacceptable. $30 for a buffet of cold overcooked steak and chicken, extremely disappointed!

This place is awful for dinner. My coleslaw had "turned" so it was bad and unhealthy. I had the Caprese sandwich but it was just bad. They had no basil on it, and the menu said balsamic vinegar but there was none on the sandwich. My husband's steak sandwich was just okay. There are many better places to eat in North Conway. Their breakfast wasn't great either because the potatoes had an "off" taste, so the only thing I would eat were the pancakes with the strawberry topping and some bacon. Not eating here again for any meal.

Read all the reviews, even the irrelevant ones from years ago. Wife and I went for appetizers and drinks. Our bartender Katie was amazing! She was very personable and attentive. We ordered the nachos, they were really good, 4 out of 5! The fifth star was for the service, again Katie was on point and deserves 5 stars alone. We will definitely be going back during our stay for another drink and a different appetizer!

This is the first night of our two-night stay at the North Conway Grand Hotel. Though we don't currently have any complaints about the hotel itself, the Mountainside Tavern & Restaurant left much to be desired. After a long day of travel, dining out, and mountain activities; my family of five was looking forward to hunkering down for the evening at the hotel and dining in our hotel room (we have an infant and two little ones, so after a long day we opted to not dine in at the restaurant). After several minutes of trying to locate the menu online, I called the front desk and was informed that I needed to pick up a menu from them. There was an extention listed on the menu for us to call for takeout, however it rang endlessly and eventually hung up on us. So, I called the front desk once again, and was informed that I needed to put in my order in-person at the restaurant. Down I went with my 2 and 6 year-old, and we put in our order after waiting for at least 5 minutes to be addressed by the hostess. The demeanor of the older woman who served us was unpleasant to say the least. I felt as though I was asking for something unheard of, just because I wanted to put in a takeout order. She didn't even crack a smile at me or my two children.Fast forward to when I received a call in my room that my food was ready (it was quick, I must say), and I returned with my son to pick it up. When we finally returned to our room after all of the unnecessary hoops that we had to jump through to dine on the premises, the food was mediocre at best. First of all, we were not provided with neither utensils nor napkins. The calamari was soggy, and I've had better pasta with marinara (the kids' selection) out of a can. The burger wasn't bad, and the wings were a step above basic.Needless to say, we are paying good $$ to stay at this "grand" hotel, and do not appreciate being treated like a nuisance just because we want to take out instead of dine in... especially to wind up being served mediocre food. Not only does this reflect poorly on the restaurant, but also on the hotel itself.

Awful. Came here with my kids. The coke and ginger ale tasted like bubbly water. They said they have had issues with the soda for a long time. So we got waters. Then the boneless buffalo wings come out and we got small bones in it, and hurt a tooth. The chicken was nasty. Got a couple kids meals which were really terrible. Kraft Mac n cheese- that’s ok- not a big deal. It’s a kids meal. The broccoli was crunchy and frozen???? The grilled cheese had about 7 slices of Kraft singles cheese in it- not melted. LOL what ? NOT one to complain or even a Karen who is picky and writes reviews but wow i definitely am surprised they haven’t gotten better by now even after the lousy reviews. Turned off by food right now and I barely even ate anything.

great breakfast with wide variety of choices for adults and kids. Plenty of low calorie options as well as traditional fare.

Never knew you could boil “fried” calamari. No breading and chewy like a hair tie. Also ordered the steak and cheese. The fries are the best part. Just needs a little salt. They forgot the steak and cheese and served the bread with a few onions. A few scattered overcooked pieces of sliced roast beef were found in the “sandwich” but if you didn’t open the “sandwich” then you would never know. Bread was actually pretty good for previously frozen bread. Wish I had pictures. For a grand hotel, the local Cumbies gas station has a better menu.

Delicious food and friendly staff! We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food - perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked!
