Busy, little slow, food was great!! We will be back
Anyone who rates this less than 5 should be arrested. Also, the owners should be arrested for making food that is so good. It's criminal to have food with flavor in New Hampshire, especially Pembroke. What? You can't be bland like everywhere else? Unbelievable. If i came here as much as i want to, Id have no money.
Everything was perfect food, sevice atmosphere. It's a place where you walk in, eat, and roll out. You could not possibly go away hungry.
Went to Shirley’s for the first time ever this morning with my dad - We were greeted right when we walked in & seated immediately. The server was very friendly & she gave us plenty of time to decide on what meals to order without us feeling rushed. The menu is VERY good. Lots of unique options with it being short and sweet, not overwhelming with unnecessary items. We loved all of the food we ordered (I got the grande w/french toast & he got the roadhouse Benedict). Not to mention, they include real maple syrup without any extra charge! This place is very yummy and perfect for a quick stop during the week on your way to work! - will be returning soon:)
This was a “shut your mouth” amazing experience. I wanted to have a momma’s breakfast before Mother’s Day so I searched for diners that would be easy for all of us to get to. I’m so happy I found Shirley’s. I am a huge Irish Benny snob and hot damn was it incredible. I asked our server not to judge me because I was going to order multiple items so I can taste a variety and then bring everything home. I ordered the Elvis pancakes, Irish Benny, and biscuits and gravy. Each one made my mouth water and my tastebuds beg for more. I’m beyond impressed and will make the trip again and again. My goal will be to try everything on the menu. Bravo Shirley’s.
Oh. My. Gawd. Cornmeal waffle with Jalapeño Hollandaise sauce? Yes please. Fluffenutter french toast? Oh yeah. Excited to go again.
So we ate at this restaurant this morning and the home fries came to the table with the eggs and bacon. The bacon was way over cooked. Apparently nobody knows how to make crispy bacon anymore. The potatoes were hard so they didn’t boil them. They just cut them and put them on the grill and Seared them a little with a lot of salt on them and stuck them on a plate. The pancakes came out and they were very heavy too much vanilla. It just really was not a good experience for us. I had also ordered a bagel that I asked to be grilled and they put it on the grill look like for maybe less than three minutes and it was still raw looking, and they gave it to me with Butter and cream cheese, but it wasn’t cooked so much for a grilled bagel so this was a very disappointing experience don’t waste your time going there. It wasn’t worth the money that we spent. We left feeling hungry just giving you guys a heads up.
Friends and I were blown away! Shirley’s has great breakfast food- the sausage eggs toast and home fries were well beyond your average diner. They also had nice twists on these dishes with some Korean influence; the Seoul skillet, for example, has kimchi and a gochujang sauce on brisket, jammy eggs and home fries. My friend got the Nutty Monkey (a waffle with bananas and Nutella and other add ons) and said it wasn’t too heavy like other waffle dishes you may get elsewhere. We can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I had breakfast at Shirley's recently and were extremely happy with our food. The place is quaint and the owners and staff are pleasant. My wife had the Gardener Omelet and I had the Seoul Skillet. Everything was fresh with amazing flavors that I was not expecting. Going back again soon to try more of their creations. This is not your everyday breakfast place. This one is special.

I was there for breakfast with my husband, first the place was freezing, got out coffee ,then our meal came after I complained that we had been waiting for 30 min ,our pancakes were cold the scrambled eggs were also cold ,very disappointing, we came all the way from.RI ...
Waited in line for a table but then another couple came in and were seated ahead of us. There was a wait to be seated a wait to order and a long wait for food which turned out to be a small plate of toast and cold tea all for over $30. Menu is different. I hope to GOD we don’t come here again.

We decided to try the locally acclaimed Shirley’s today. It’s a Southern/Korean fusion through a New Englander’s lens. First impressions walking in were cozy. We suggest that if diners are to be seated there should be a host waiting on them. On a lively Sunday morning when business is humming it feels a bit contrived when multiple parties are waiting to be seated.
We tried the biscuits and gravy as well as a “Grande”. The biscuits were drop biscuits. Which are northern style and not keeping with the southern theme. We were looking for a layered buttermilk biscuit filled with cold butter, cut, and patted with butter before baking. They were slightly dry and mealy. Probably an issue with the baking powder. We wanted to experience the standard SOP so when they didn’t ask how I wanted my eggs I held back my want for a tender and runny fried egg. The scramble was hard, dry, and under seasoned. The addition of a little salted butter and cheddar cheese while the scramble was still runny would have brought a rainbow of flavor. I personally finish mine with a dash of white pepper. There was a thick cut bacon on the plate but it was unfortunately burned. The pancakes were boxed, rubbery, and covered in powdered sugar. The potatoes were our favorite item on the plate. I would suggest switching to a flake salt because the kosher salt doesn’t break down before hitting the table and leaves a gritty texture in the mouth. The butter served leaves an oily texture in the mouth leading us to think it’s a blended butter.
Overall we will try again at a later time. Shirley was quite delightful and the staff was friendly.
During this visit my favorite menu item was definitely the coffee. Not bitter or burned. It was exactly what I needed it to be.

My review is LONG overdue! I visited Shirley's Kitchen a few months ago and was impressed from the start. I was struggling to get my twin babies in the door when the owner rushed over to help me. I was seated and greeted promptly with a warm smile. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Melt which was absolutely perfect. The bread was similar to Texas toast and paired very well with the buffalo chicken. I ordered the LA Street Tacos to go (for my husband) and they held up very well in the car ride home. He was incredibly impressed with the flavor. Shirley's Kitchen has a little bit of everything for everyone! Do not sleep on this adorable little Mom and Pop, you won't regret it!
