The location and atmosphere were very nice. But we had some other issues with our experience. We arrived around 4:40pm and didn’t receive our entrees until a little after 6:00pm (while the table next to us who arrived afterwards received their dinner first). Our daughter wanted a lemonade and the waitress offered a blackberry lemonade. We didn’t realize it was essentially a NA cocktail so each lemonade was $9. There was also a fee for splitting our entree. We spent about $175 on two appetizers, two entrees, 2 lemonades and a coke. The waitress did not apologize for the delay in getting our food. And the side vegetables were not great. You would expect for that price for all the food to be excellent. Both main entrees and appetizers were good. Overall it was a mixed experience.

Paid $25 for just a chicken caesar salad. Waited 45 minutes for a small handful of lettuce and four slices of cold chicken. Not worth my time or the wait.

It was our first time at the Waterhouse Restaurant and I absolutely recommend! The only reason I give it a 4 star rating is the service. Our server was very nice, cocktails and apps came quickly enough. Our dinners were then brought in by a runner. Perfect. But then your server didn’t come to check on us until we were almost halfway through our meal, glasses empty. By then de had decided to stick with our waters. Had he checked on our drinks earlier we would have ordered wine! Not a huge deal, and an easy fix!!

Paid over $300..unable to chew the steak. Ordered wine was not asked what kind. Hostess wearing sweatshirt. If going to charge 45 a meal make it worth it. The steak was so over cooked unable chew ordered for my son with no sides and was charged 40.00 for overcooked hard meat (steak) ..disappointed. do not recommend. Had to squeeze into a seat with many tables open . Made a reservation ..just moved to town and found this fine dining..the food and staff need to step it up for the price. Food was beyond disappointig.for 300 was a awful experience!

Wow!!! Such a great place. We were out antiquing and stopped here for lunch. Sat on the patio, just beautiful, great drinks. Food was amazing, both of us had the Waterhouse burger, you can tell it's all fresh, just so flavorful. Highly recommend.

The Waterhouse is located in the Center of Peterborough. The food is very good and the location is great, its just a couple of minutes walk from the Town Hall, where the Monadnock Music Festival holds its concerts, and the Historical Society where Electric Earth holds some of their concerts.

2019 Had dinner here again after an Electric Earth concert at the Peterboro Townhouse. The flat iron steak was excellent. We've been coming here for many years and it's always good.

2023: It's been a while since we've been here. Still excellent. Had the mushroom soup and a porterhouse.
They've greatly expanded their outdoor seating, it's much better now than it was.

Sept 2024: We've always liked Waterhouse but now it's stepped up a level. I had the wagyu and it was superb. It's not Japanese wagyu, it's from a New Hampshire farm. I always prefer to eat local so I'm very happy that they are sourcing their meat from New Hampshire.

Family reunion luncheon - could not have asked for a better experience! Organizer was a bit nervous, as all arrangements were made via phone/email...but Linda did everything promised at a high level. Had a hiccup in place setting count, but was quickly resolved with an extra table and chairs. Food and beverages were served quickly - drink specials were delicious! Service staff did a great job keeping up with requests and kept us well-fed. Entire family, including our 2 toddlers, had a great time. The event was 'talked about' for the entire vacation - GREAT way to start on the right foot. THANK YOU for a spectacular event!!

Extremely rude male bartender! Made me feel so uncomfortable and did not care that food came out extremely under cooked . Manager did come out and try to handle the situation. The bartender started to snap in manger didnt tell them to stop just plain unprofessional atmosphere for fine dinning . Manager did not seem to care at all about how inappropriate staff member was to me. Be cautious dinning here or alone late at night.

Haven't been there in a few months but it's a good restaurant. It's kind of fun if you get a table right where the small River from the McDowell dam flows down. Pretty much anything they have is good there I've never had a meal I didn't like. The one thing though is they have more competition in the area. You've got the bantam grill. Bantam grill does have this chicken dinner that is just absolutely exquisite I'll put it on as it's better than anything else in the Peterborough area

Parking: There's plenty of parking right in front of the restaurant as well as along the side of the building. Never had a problem parking even when it was busy and there are little eateries there and there's still plenty of parking.

The food I ordered was good but not great for the price. Service was slow, that's usually the way it has been, not enough staff. Lovely atmosphere, clean facilities. They say they serve Coke, but it doesn't taste like real Coke to me.
