It's a college bar and has a sports bar type feel to it. You can chill and eat some nice food wihout it becoming a night club. The food here is F'ing fantastic. We had a split order of wings and they are crispy, perfect and like you would expect from a fantastic chicken wing. We had hand cut fries as well and a most delicious burger that had brisket and bacon jam. The burger was ridiculously good. Im planning a trip back, the food here is not common. It is next level good.

Phat fish has now rebranded to phat boyz sports bar. They have gone from being good atmosphere and good priced menu to just another (in a small town) loud sports bar with way overpriced burgers. $18 for a burger in a college town is quite steep. We come from Meredith, where those prices are expected to eat in Plymouth as food is more affordable. The restaurant has also taken up half its tables with a second bar, in an already narrow and small room. We may be back in the summer when outside seating is back, but winter time the acoustics are way too overstimulating with its tall ceilings and narrow layout.

We stopped here for a quick lunch while traveling and had a good meal. Our server was pleasant and the portions were large. The blackened breaded chicken sandwich was huge. I would eat here again if in the area.

Things have gone from bad to worse. Last time we entered Phat Fish we found many tables uncleaned and the restaurant generally a mess. We chalked it up to perhaps a very busy lunch run even though it was only 12:40. Given the condition of the place we left. Today we decided to give them a second chance. Unfortunately, it was pretty much the same story. Many tables uncleaned and the place generally a mess. We did sit down, however, and looked at the menu. When I laid my hand on the table, it came away sticky. Checked the rest of the table and about of it was a sticky mess. You expect us to eat on that surface? Once again, we left. Two chances is all you'll get from us. We won't be back. Rest assured we will share our experiences with all of our friends and others we meet.

Food is mediocre, the fish had hair in it. On top of that this place charges tip for a pick order. In what world is that right. I'm not sitting down and eating, I'm using my gas, my time and then I have to pay you a tip to just prepare my food. Place works on tourist that will never come back to this dump.

Aiyanna provided some of the best service especially given the unbearable working conditions. Although the front wall is completely open there is no air movement and it was stifling inside on this 90 degree day. Ceiling fans area must and a cheap enough investment for comfort of the guests and your staff. Back to Aiyanna - she just turned 18 the week before so she was unfamiliar with the beer selection and table service (she did take-out for 2 years though). She readily admitted her lack of knowledge but would get the information. She did and returned promptly even though there were only 2 servers for whole place (my guess is that other staff called out on this high heat day). When asked if the salmon was farm-raised she again checked with kitchen before telling us that everything was wild caught. Instead of being embarrassed about her lack of knowledge or giving a wrong answer, she looked upon this as an opportunity to learn more about the business. The service and food were great; however, the atmosphere, climate, and cleanliness need work. Better off sticking to take-out.

Service was decent until, Charlotte, our waitress became argumentative and haughty when having to send a drink that was undrinkable back refused to it take off the bill and she informed me 3 times that she would send the bartender out to "talk" to me, she also informed me that it was the bartender that said it was a "perfectly" good drink and she would not take off the bill, really? What a lovely way to be treated by a young haughty twit with a copartner the "bar tender" not sure if they should be in the food service business or looking for a confrontation/ maybe a bar brawl? Food was decent but portions were on the smaller end of things for a 20-23$ entree, not super generous but, ok. I was also informed by our lovely server that if "everyone" did that they would go out of business. Thanks Charlotte! You're a genius! Go anywhere but, here unless you want an attitude and hostility from the employees, hoping it doesn't start from the owner , it's too bad. And I still tipped the bitch 20%.

Decent food but very inconsistent service. Poor management skills high turn over rate with employees seems to lead to the hit and miss quality and service

If you are looking for a place with a lively vibe, excellent food at a fair price and a server with an upbeat, friendly attitude, make a point of visiting this restaurant. Thanks to a tip from a local, four of us enjoyed a great lunch at Phat Fish. Someone sure knows how to do haddock right! One in our party chose a side of hand cut chips and raved about them too. We will make it a point to return to this spot.

I had a great meal here! The fajita meat was perfect and I enjoyed that which was unexpected.

Hey guys. Went here with a few of my closest friends and it certainly is a restaurant. We sat down next to the broken heat vent and had an awesome view of the grease covered yet cozy kitchen. I have never had a meal of this caliber, with all the salt and yes, grease that you could ask for. I almost went “waiter! More grease please, but I didn’t want to ask too much”. I got the Asian Chicken Po’ Boy, and I have a feeling I’m gonna throw it all up just to have it again! It’s that good! I wouldn’t not never go there again! 5 stars.

Very disappointed. I guess if I asked a 4th grader to interpret what a fish taco is, I guess I found it. Never had any like these. Grocery store cheese on a tortilla with a weird bread crumb on over cooked fish..mmmm. Who doesn't offer an aoliI and charges extra for salsa or sauce. I didn't want the things I heard about this place to be true so we tried it for ourselves. Nope. True. Positive note great location.
