Small, intimate, cozy vibe. Like that it isn't loud and can have a conversation. The food is just the right portion size to leave satisfied and not overly stuffed. Great date night spot.

We came to Cava for a date night. The food and drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. This place is nice enough for a special occasion but reasonable enough for a normal night out. Danny, at the bar, was great and just an absolute pleasure. We managed to sneak in at the bar without reservations but the placed filled in quick. We will be coming back for the next season's menu and I certainly recommend you do the same.

Great place. Special summer fixed price 4 course meal. There were 6 of us, so 24 plates of food. All were exceptional, except for one.....the Paella! Sorry, but everyone tasted, and no one really liked it. Anyway, 1/24 is pretty good. Otherwise, the service was great. We sat on the patio, which was wonderful.
They make this place seem more desirable than it actually is by making it more difficult to get a table there than it needs to be. They don't treat you like they are excited to get your business, they treat you like you'd be lucky to get to eat there. Very fake exclusive vibe. Unfortunately this tactic has worked for them and they've maintained much more hype than they deserve.

Found this place while looking for a small plate and a memorable drink. The haddock was fantastic and a shout out to Danny who curated our drinks. It is intimate, elevated and an excellent experience.

Perfect slow paced dining! The ambience was great, service was excellent, and there was not a single miss on the 80% of the entire seasonal menu we tried. The dishes took a bit longer to prepare but were all delicious and thoughtful even to scrutinizing connoisseurs. The food is modernistic and lighter compared to traditional Spanish/Mediterranean food, not the greatest fit for someone needing something very heavy and hearty with *a lot* of calories.
Vegetarian options: All appetizer, desserts and most second courses on this seasonal menu were vegetarian. 1/4 main course was vegetarian but very delicious.

We’ve been dining annually at Cava for 13 years and this last visit did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the service exceptional and our outdoor table was perfect. John (the owner) was very personal and ensured we had another special visit. We will visit every time we’re in Portsmouth.

Did the 4 course meal with Spring menu. All the food was excellent and my favorites were the carrots and churros. Service was great, good atmosphere sitting outside and sparkling clean bathrooms. Reason for 4 stars is we paid $24 for 2 mocktails ($12 each)!! Been to lots of nice restaurants in Portsmouth and never been charged that much for a mocktail..and these were just soda with a little juice mixed in, nothing fancy.
