My husband and I just finished the most delicious dinner here. I would strongly recommend it’s worth the $$. Come in with an open mind on what you want to enjoy and be ready for a dazzling experience with flavors and the service was impeccable. We will be back! Thanks Christine. 🥰❤️🙏🏼

Cava was recommended to us by the owner of the Inn where we stayed. We loved the atmosphere - sat at the cozy bar. The food was a tapas tasting menu with several options to choose from. The. tapas were delicious and the courses were well paced. Great wine list, We had a wonderful experience and look forward to returning sometime soon. Shoutout to Bridget at the bar, who did a great job.

The food is Spanish Mediterranean Tapas Style very very tasty. The Ambiance is perfect and very good for small groups the staff and management of very accommodating I would say this is a well-kept secret it is nicely tucked away down a side street and the food is definitely something you must try. All small plates I will say excellent food excellent service excellent ambience

I was able to get a same day reservation for a lovely Saturday in October. I sat on the patio under the heat lamps, and was quite comfortable. The menu is a $59 price fixed. You order everything at the same time and your server spaces it out for you.

The service was excellent, as was the food. I started with some almonds and olives. Super delicious and authentic. Then I had the potato leek soup, which was missing a touch of salt in my opinion. I ordered patatas bravas which reminded me of the ones I get in Spain. So good. My entree was the paella, which was absolutely delicious. I can’t remember the name of my drink, but it was basically a creamy, spicy, tart drink, absolutely perfect.

I had one of the best meals I have ever had here. I will definitely be going back.

We just got done eating there for my birthday. We called yesterday to make a reservation, it was for my birthday and one week wedding anniversary. We communicated the occasions to the host but no birthday candle was given :(

Ok let’s talk food… we got the mackerel- first bite fishy but once you take a bite of all the fixings: bread, jam and arugula. It’s tasty!

Second we got the dates and zucchini… both yummy just wish we got at a little more. I understand tapas but it left us hungry.

For our mains, my HUBBY got the paella… lacked flavor, barely any chicken or chorizo in there.

I got the gnocch, it was tasty for sure, I would have added some protein or a thicker sauce. The flavor was good!

Dessert: churros need refining… too soft!Cheesecake portion left you wanting more because the caramel sauce and blueberry compote was delicious.

Service was wonderful, Danny was great! Maybe next time, ask if people are celebrating anything special. It leaves an impression!

I share this only to help everyone improve their craft. Thank you !

Among the most delightful dining I know. Superb cocktails, delicious small plates and staff who both want to make your evening great and who have the skills to make that happen. Just wonderful! Every time.

Great food!!!!
Fresh and well-paired components of each dish. Chrissy was very friendly and helpful. Portions are fair for the price. Definitely make a reservation or call ahead.

Cava is a hidden gem in a small side avenue in Downtown Portsmouth NH. Although the food was fantastic, it was surpassed by the 5 star service we received. Anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience it the Portsmouth area needs to give this place a try. There were six of us dining so the gratuity was already included on our bill. The service was so exceptional I felt the need to add a healthy cash tip for the extra effort put forth by the staff.
Thank you again Cava for a wonderful memory. We will be back.

The food was terrible. Super small portions which would be cool and fancy IF the food was good. But it’s not food was honestly gross.

Plus we got charged 10 bucks for legit 5 potato cubes with like sauce on it.

Staff was especially rude. Atmosphere was loud and unfriendly.

I felt as though the staff was over pushing us to get drinks, by placing extra drink coasters and asking three separate times if we would like to order drinks.

Terrible experience. Don’t go here.

Absolutely wonderful - an intimate atmosphere that has as much life as Cava does is a rare thing. I love the pre fixe menu with plenty of choice. We each had the salad, and then shared the dates, zucchini (both of which we would have eaten all night), flank steak, Parisian gnocchi, the churros, and the almost torta.

I love that the flavors are layered, the food is light, and the portions perfectly sized for sharing. And that the zucchini recipe is a family one.

Cheers to our server and bartender for being such a warm host with excellent recommendations!

The most unbelievable dining experience we've had in a long time. The food, the wine, the service (talking about you, Danny), all absolute perfection. Have not stopped raving about it since. Can't wait to come back soon (and forever!).
