Bartenders serve out of order have an attitude
Whether you are from out of town and want to experience Portsmouth, or a local who wants to come to a bar where everybody knows your name, this is the place. The recent addition of the lobster roll elevates it to the next level, having tried it it is the best deal going. Delicious and fresh!
Great dive bar that’s stepping its game up with a brand new patio, overhauled summer menu, and karaoke 6 nights a week. Come for the new vibes, stay for the old ones (pool tables and cheap drinks!).
I couldnt believe the outside of D Street (Daniel Street Tavern) today. It has an outside seating area (very clean and welcoming) as well as a NEW Food Menu. I couldnt believe how tasty the 1/4 pound lobster roll was (came with Coleslaw, pickle and small bag of chips) for $20. The alcohol free Bloody Mary was spicy/tasty and a good addition to the role. They have many deals on alcohol but also lots of non alcohol options (pop, juices and non alcoholic beer). Place is very clean and server VIVI is on her Game!!! So much more then a Dive Bar!!!!

Bouncer discriminated against my gay African-American friend and wouldn’t let us into the bar
Best place ever. Marge, her sons, the rest of the staff are all amazing people who look out for their patrons. From the drink list, the atmosphere, the pizza, karaoke, pool tables, it's all 10/10. One thing I took notice to, was the male staff are protective of female patrons, keeping an eye on them/their drinks and any situations that may be uncomfortable. Aleays checking in to make sure patrons are enjoying their time. Ifeel so safe here, as a woman going out alone, I won't go anywhere else. And I have met some lifelong friends here, which I am insanely thankful for. If you want to find your chosen family, go down to Dstreet!! The tavern also just got some renovations done as well. It's looking sharper than ever! Don't listen to the bad reviews, they probably did something to get kicked out and are being bitter. Highly recommend Daniel Street Tavern!!
Local spot for sure. The floors were sticky, and the food was good. We were in and out on a Saturday afternoon for a quick bite, but you could tell good times are had here.
Great dive bar.
Kid-friendliness: It's a dive bar with live music.

On Saturday they do karaoke but unless you pay to jump the line they will purposely “forget” about you. This has happened 3 different nights. Wear a bachlorette sash or grease the palms.

Bouncer said bar was full so he couldnt let my party of 4 in but proceeded to let at least 6 people who arrived after us go into the bar before the actually decided to let us in

Came for one beer, was turned away while open. They were closing in more than an hour. Visitor from out of town, local bar so this won't matter. 0/10
