Best lobster roll in Portsmouth, no doubt.

This is the real deal when it comes to lobster rolls and chowdah! Everyone is super friendly and in our opinion, it’s the best in the area. If you are looking for a must New England experience in Portsmouth, this is it. They let you sample their chowders and it’s walking distance to downtown Portsmouth as well.

Stopped in here today. They are built to push lobster rolls and chowder. I ordered a crab roll with butter. Looked like they opened a can of meat and put it on a hot dog roll and served it with a side of butter. The other order was a cheeseburger. Eat staff was punctual but not warm. I’d label this an old school tourist trap.

If you have visitors and you want to treat them to the best lobster roll and New England scenery combination … this is your place. The staff is wonderful too. Don’t change a thing Geno! I’d recommend walking or riding your bike there to take it all in.

Chowder was more soupy not at all creamy, than I’m used to. Chicken salad sandwich was very bland.

Friendly people, excellent food, great atmosphere/environment and reasonable prices I hesitated to put this review down because I selfishly wanted to keep this little hideaway to myself but the people are so nice I had to write it.

This is a very small restaurant with some necessary rules of survival. The food is great as is the service be respectful of their signs.

Bottom line - the food was excellent. It’s hard to go wrong with a crab roll anywhere but these folks do it right. Perfect outdoor seating area. But what stood out most to me were the people who work here. They were great hosts. The service was stellar. It’s not a fancy restaurant but we were treated like royalty. Thanks for a great lunch.

Best clam chowder I've ever had, and my wife's lobster stew was easily half meat - great proportion! Lobster rolls were delicious and service was friendly and prompt! When you're in Portsmouth, seek this place out, and enjoy the food and the view!

Great spot on the river with a view of Pierce Island, the Piscataqua river, and the Wentworth Gardner house.
Great, friendly service. Yummy, fresh foods. Decent beer and wine selection which makes this a great spot, out of the way, to enjoy a lunch on Portsmouth.
No fried foods, and check out all the clams in the chowder!! ?

Parking: Very few spots, recommend walking over from a more main Street.

Kid-friendliness: Has high chairs available for littles. No changing room ?‍♀️

The fish chowder was seriously delicious! Just missing some warm buttered bread as even the largest soup serving didn’t keep me full for very long. It’s also great that they let you sample the chowder! I’ll definitely be back.

A no frills venue with great tasting food on the water. We went on a Monday early afternoon and there were no car parks so I wouldn’t want to imagine it at peak time.
