Gilley's Diner is a Portsmouth staple. Although best known as the go-to when the bars close, you are denying yourself a culinary delight if you don't come by sober the next day. Although the fare is simple (just burgers, dogs, and their necessary accompaniments) they are done to perfection and cooked to order by the hardest working man in show business.
Gilley’s Diner in Portsmouth, NH, is a hidden gem for anyone looking for classic diner food in a charming, nostalgic setting. My wife and I stopped by for a quick bite and were impressed by the experience. She ordered a hot dog with fries, and I opted for a double cheeseburger with fries. Came it at 9 at night and was quickly taken care of. I was warned to know want you want and except a rough exterior from the ower. But she was wonderful and I loved a little sass. To make it even better, I got the ham and cheese w gravy fries, came to about 11 bucks total, and was some of the best diner food I've ever had. Strongly suggest you go out of your way to check this place out if your in the area.
