went there Sunday. We placed our order sat down to enjoy it. when employee approached us, and stated by the way we close at 1 it's 104. no excuse me, I am sorry it was by the way. only place in Maine to make us feel unwelcome. very rude

I tried 5 donuts here! Unfortunately, they were sold out of the cider donuts by the time I arrived at 10, so if you want particular donuts I'd order ahead. Especially for gluten-free (those were dwindling fast). Fun flavors and good variety. Im not rating 5 stars just because I didnt particularly love the boston cream--the filling was a little cornstartch-y for me, but I was a boston cream conisseur in my non-veg days and have probably impossible expectations for that particular flavor. The old fashioned hits. Good lattes! I came on a really weird day when I arrived the door was open and lights were on but no one was there. After waiting and calling a few times (their voicemail lists incorrect hours lol) I went to the kittery location--turns out there'd been a gasleak and the employees had evacuated portsmouth to the kittery location and I guess forgotten to lock the door. ANYWAY--recommend.

Just popped in here while my kids were shopping next-door. The donuts were outstanding. The elasticity of the crumb was fantastic, and sweetness was just about right. I got the glazed and the chocolate frosted, both were fantastic and my kids loved them. It's not easy to do donuts well, most come out to dry or the oil used is unpleasantly obvious or they are way too sweet… The list goes on. So, excellent donuts, thank you!

Delicious! I tried the Whoopie pie donut and maple frosted, both gluten free! I never thought I’d have a donut that tasted like a donut again!

Unfortunately this was a disappointment compared to other donut shops we have visited. The glazed brioche donut was extremely tough and hard to pull apart and chew. Not a melt in your mouth donut shop. The cake donuts were better. We visited early on a Saturday morning when they should be fresh, so I’m not sure what the issue was.

It's like getting a medical procedure standing in line here. Staff have zero personality. Terrible beat music playing. Takes FOREVER 😔

I stumbled into Lovebirds this morning for the first time, and got an apple fritter. OH MY GOODNESS it was magical. Melted in my mouth. 10/10

If you want one of the best donuts of your life…. Come here! Home made! The staff are so sweet to recommend ones that they love. They have gluten free and regular donuts. All donuts are vegan. I salivated over a gluten free crème bruleè and let me tell you. I could have cried with joy. It was wonderful. The the fried doe donut was exceptional. Please stop here!

 Best donuts I have ever had

If you are gluten free you need to check them out!! These are REAL doughnuts! Not tiny or boring!
I am gluten intolerant but not celiac.
Love birds is also full vegan.
