The hospitality in this place is amazing. We were immediately welcomed in with a warm greeting from Will at the front. He made some great suggestions and the food was amazing!
The pumpkin pie tart was so delicious!

Service was outstanding! Friendly banter at the counter and pleasant staff that made our food and drink. This is what can often make or break a place. Cute location in the downtown area. Ordered the recommended breakfast stuffed popover which was incredible. And their Lemon poppy seed scone was delish. I also got an iced latte which paired nicely on this warm fall day. Definitely would go back. Many delicious baked treats waiting to be tried there too.

I don’t understand the ratings for this place. My wife ordered a popovers with chicken salad. The popover was burnt and hard as a rock. The chicken salad amount was skimpy at best. And made with curry. Who makes chicken salad with curry? ? She got bottle of spring water with it. $20
Tourist trap prices.

We had the stuffed popover and scrambled egg popover and were very excited about trying them. Unfortunately, the popovers were very dry and overcooked and certainly not served warm…a big disappointment. Eat at Friendly Toast instead.

Chose this on a rainy afternoon in Portsmouth. We wanted a warm drink and the tea and coffee were great. We had a key lime pie which was great - perhaps could have been a little sharper with lime.

If you are looking for a cafe with great food, coffee, and pastries, Popovers is everything you could want. It is counter service but they bring your food to you. There is indoor and outdoor seating. This is a great casual place in the wonderful walkable city of Portsmouth NH.

Wow! These are so good. We stumbled across them by accident and decided to try one. The guy at the counter suggested we sit down and have the maple butter with the Popover warmed up, so we did.

Delicious and made all the better on a wet and grey day in Portsmouth ??

Great place to order at the counter and enjoy a light meal. Indoor and outdoor seating...dog friendly outside and comfy banquette or chair seating inside with moveable tables. Menu is diverse, and the popovers they are known for do not disappoint. If your meal comes with a mini popover, upgrade to the larger popover: You only live once! The maple butter is yummy...though could use a pinch of salt for balance. When I was there, it was a little chaotic/rushed, but the staff remained friendly and fast. I ordered the ham, potato, and cheddar quiche with GF crust (and a side salad). Quiche was served at room temp, which I did not LOVE, but maybe that's how quiche is supposed to be served? No matter, the crust was flaky, the filling was perfect, and I'd order it again.
