My husband and I sat at the bar- enjoyed impeccable service as we watched oysters being shucked in front of us. I had Welfleet oysters fresh and delish, and we both enjoyed bowls of perfect NE clam chowder! All of this paired with a Maine Lunch it was the perfect supper in a fun and chic atmosphere!

This restaurant is worth the trip and on the go again list. From the moment we walked in and met the hostess, getting seated quickly without a reservation on a Saturday night and a very attentive waitstaff, the visit was incredible. The assorted variety of raw oysters made it easy to try several types. The accompanying mignonette and cocktail sauces added nice flavor to the oysters.I highly recommend the salmon pate as an appetizer or too accompany the oysters. If you are going to Portsmouth, take the time to visit Row 34. I would suggest making a reservation, especially on Saturday night. I know I can't wait to visit it again soon.

Went there for dinner with a couple old friends last night. Food was on point as usual but I wanted to give our server Grady 5 stars for putting up with my companions. As an Industry Vet I appreciated her calm and professionalism in the face of what my buddies call humor. All kidding aside a fantastic job by Grady! Definitely an great asset to the Row 34 team! Please let Grady know I gave her some bad information. It is the Coupe glass that was supposedly shaped from the breast of Marie Antoinette and not the Nick and Nora.

Always wonderful seafood, drinks, and service. Been here many times and never had a bad meal. You can make a meal of the raw bar and fish pâté offerings or go for something heartier like clam chowder or fish and chips.

The atmosphere was the best part about this place. I had the Hake with Mac & cheese on the side. Both dishes were bland. The service was slow. The waitress did not have a bad attitude, she was just bad at her job. I really wanted to like this place but I’m not compelled to visit again.

We had drinks and small plates at a high top in the bar area. It was very loud in the restaurant and it is very expensive. The martini was in a coup glass rather than in a proper martini glass and was small. ( I would say half the size of a proper martini.) I hate restaurants that save in ways that are overtly stingy. The tuna tartar was Ok, not a lot of flavor or interest. The mussels were small and again just ok. The broth was not great. We also shared the calamari which was well done, lightly battered with a spicy aioli on the side.

Stopped in for a late dinner on a Saturday and was promptly seated by the bar. Loved the vibe - the music was loud enough that you could enjoy it yet still have a conversation, and it was dark enough that it provided an elegant atmosphere without needing to use a flashlight to read the menu. Our server JT was phenomenal - recommended a fabulous wine and local oysters from the raw bar, which quickly became our favorite oysters of all time. The scallops and mussels were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

Very nice place, good ambience, perfect music Volume. You can hang out with friends or family or just watch some games at the bar area. Service was great…

Stopped by for lunch today. Wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. Service was kind, courteous, and prompt. My GF thought it was a bit cool (temperature wise) but it was just right for me. Type of place you can hear yourself having a conversation and you don't need to shout over the table, so A+ ambiance. Food-wise, GF got the clam chowder appetizer which she thoroughly enjoyed, I got 3 pieces of shrimp cocktail: big, meaty pieces of shrimp which were super succulent. GF got the fried fish sandwich and I got the fish and chips. Both portions were massive--a lot bigger than we expected--and the fish in both dishes were great. Flakey, tasty, and cooked to the right doneness. Next time we are back in Portsmouth, we will definitely return.

This was my 5th time at Row 34 but the 1st time for the 5 others. Everyone just loved their food. I had the New England Clam Chowder and the Fish Tacos. Two of the diners had the chowder and the cornbread side (which was the hit of the night). Another had the scallops (and was pleased) and the last fish eater had the halibut. The lone meat eater had a bacon cheeseburger. Everyone went away happy!

Row 34 is our favorite, and our go-to restaurant when we're in Portsmouth. Everything is great. The drinks, the food, the service. Our only complaint, and it's minor, is that when the place is full, and the music is turned up, it's difficult to hear your dining companion(s).

Our 1st dinner at the Portsmouth location was great. All drinks, appetizers, and dinners were top notch. John G. served us and his friendly and competent service made our experience 5 star. We will be back the next time we visit Portsmouth.
