I’ve been going to Societe for years now, and honestly, I don’t know what I’d do without their apothecary teas. I’m a mom to 4-year-old twins, and medicine has been one of the hardest parts of parenting. I’ve never felt good about giving them over-the-counter cold meds—too many weird ingredients I can’t pronounce, and they never seem to help much anyway. But finding natural remedies that actually work? That’s been a whole other struggle. Every fall, I make my annual trip to Societe to stock up on my go-to teas: Throat Ease, Get Well, Breathe, Fever Break, Be Well Immuni Tea, and Digest Ease. The first five are always in my pantry. When my kids start sniffling or coughing, I don’t even think twice—I make them a warm cup of tea. It’s so much easier than fighting with them to take some nasty-tasting syrup that ends up all over their shirt or spit out halfway through. These teas work fast, they taste good, and I feel better knowing I’m helping their little bodies heal naturally. Now let me talk about Digest Ease, because this one… wow. If you’ve been through potty training, you know the constipation phase is brutal. My daughter was in so much pain, scared to go, crying, and I felt helpless. Doctors kept recommending milk of magnesia and other stuff that just didn’t feel right. I tried everything—fiber, prune juice, homeopathic drops—and nothing gave her consistent relief. Digest Ease was the only thing that helped. It’s gentle, it works fast, and it gave my daughter real relief without the drama. I’ve told every mom friend I know about it, and they’ve all had the same experience. If you’re a parent who’s tired of chemical-filled meds and just wants something safe, natural, and effective—these teas are it. They’re not just products. They’re part of how I care for my kids. I’ll never go another season without them.

Absolutely love every product I’ve bought!!! perfect balance face oil has made my skin look beautiful ◡̈
My go to shop for all things wellness. Big fan of their Fire Cider - a must have during cold/flu season. Had an issue with an online order, but the crew at Societe went above and beyond to make things right. A small business extremely worthy of your support!
You can't get a hold of anyone here, and it's hard to even get someone in person in the shop because they don't follow their listed hours. Their flavored honey tastes like drinking straight essential oils, absolutely disgusting. I'd recommend finding somewhere else to go.
Bought a 20 something dollar jar of lavender honey, and it's horrible. It burns your mouth and throat, and tastes like chemicals. Nobody answers the phone when you call, nobody answers emails, and they don't follow the hours they have listed on their website. Horrible.
Such a beautiful store with the best selection of teas! The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and I always find something new and exciting. Cannot recommend the Snooze tea enough!
Societe is one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in the Portsmouth area!
I signed my wife and I up for a tea mixing class at Société last week. I'm not a tea drinker, but my wife absolutely loves tea. Since it was her 30th birthday, I wanted to do something special and different, which is exactly what this class was! Typically scheduled for an hour and a half, our teacher (and owner of the shop) was very thorough and engaging, which extended the program to about 2 hours. We tried 5 or so different teas of a variety of styles ranging from a cleanse, Chai, holiday special, and a black tea for some caffeine. Like I mentioned at the start, I don't drink tea...since that class, I've had 3 cups, and shared our learnings with family and friends (who also have fallen in love with the Chai we brought home). In addition to the tastings, everyone that attends the class is given a free jar of any tea they would like. When I told my wife a few days ago that I let my dad try the teas we brought home, she was (jokingly) angry that it meant she would have 1 less cup worth of tea now. Even if you don't sign up for the class, Société is a must visit for any tea drinker!!
Went to Société today and purchased some tea for my digestive tract. Absolutely the best tea, I have ever tasted. And I just went there on 11/11/23 and bought some snooze and I had the most peaceful sleep. One of the best herbal places, I have found.
I loved stumbling on these shops. Such a cute and mystical variety of tinctures, teas and mists. A wonderful shop about healing and finding fun herbs that speaks to you.

Beautiful shop with all sorts of interesting teas and tinctures. Stop in! You’ll love it!
A very unique aromatherapy shop with local mists, oils, and herbs. The vibes are spot-on for this shop promoting holistic healing and skincare.
This is definitely a must see place if you’re visiting Portsmouth! My boyfriend and I went for the tea brewing activity and it was so much fun. She is so personable and incredibly knowledgeable. I knew a few things about different teas and herbs, but left feeling like an expert! You also get to try a lot of different teas during the session, which left me walking away with a few new favorites!

So cute and special. Love that they’re opening up the space more for different activities.
