This place used to be top notch. Even though it is very expensive, it used to be worth it. The service was top notch, very professional and always plenty of workers available. Wow has it gone down hill. Workers are always brand new, young, seedy, totally untrained and unprofessional. Tonight is my last visit, no more!!. Cashier doesn't know how to do a gift card. Then his phone rings over by the lobster roll table. He actually goes and gets it, puts it on speaker while he's struggling trying to process my gift card purchase. He then has me sign the cc receipt. I sign it, then he realizes he made me sign the customer copy not the merchant copy. Then I make a purchase with the gift card. He writes the cost of the order on the back of the gift card instead of the balance. I ask him to fix it. He does. I can't read what he writes. He takes it back and states I can't write at all. He tries writing the balance again. He can't even read what he just wrote. He covers it with another sticker. And tries again. Fine, it's fine I tell him. I would strongly recommend that you do not go to this place. I know I certainly won't. It's very expensive, like you might expect at a high quality, sit down restaurant. The quality of the experience is just too frustrating and poor to justify these prices.

They had a valentine day special. It was a seafood plate with 2 chowder and 2 drinks at a great price.The food was served fresh and hot.As far as my 2 star rating for service, it is ridiculous to ask for a tip for an employee that is not a server and earning a regular wage, and we had to get our own drinks.A tip is decided AFTER a meal, not before you get the food.

Just one visit to this place and I know I will never go back. On 7/30/23, at about 2 pm, I placed my order at the front counter and went to my table to wait for my order as I was instructed by the cashier. My order was brought out to me and immediately I saw a strand of hair was mixed in with the fried shrimp and scallops. I advised the lady who was working in the dining room of the hair in my food. She apologized and offered to ask the kitchen staff to cook a fresh plate of food for me.About 20 minutes later, she returned with what was supposed to be a fresh plate of food. However, at first look it was obvious that it was NOT fresh food. First off, the food color was extremely dark. A clear indication that my first plate was just double cooked in an attempt to deceive me. Secondly, the same strand of hair was still present on the plate. Nothing was changed. Upon finding the same strand of hair, I took the plate back to the front counter and spoke with the manager directly and pointed out the strand of hair and asked why would he allow this type of poor customer service. He seemed extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed and yet offered to have "someone else cook my food". Someone else??This means the manager approved of this action and he thought that it was appropriate to treat a customer this disrespectful way. He never once stated that this behavior was outside of company policy. He seemed rather inconvenienced that I called out this nasty practice. It was at this moment, I knew this would be my first and last time at this restaurant.

This place is a gem. I always wanted an authentic lobster roll from somewhere in New England and I finally got it. It was everything I wanted and more. Scallops and clams were terrific too. Will visit again when I'm back up this way. Thanks yall.
