We made a reservation at The District for 12 people for lunch as a surprise birthday celebration for my mother in law. The staff did an incredible job hosting such a large group of people and made the meal even more special. The location and atmosphere worked extremely well for our group. I would definitely go back.

Very good meal and outstanding service. Our waiter was super attentive and efficient despite it being a being a busy night. Only issue is the high noise level which is exacerbated by a lot of hard surfaces and no padding.

Food was awful, not one of our meals was even decent. The shrimp tacos were stale, the pad tai was like cement and the salad was gross. This was a waste of money and time, find somewhere else to go, anywhere ...

The restaurant was nice, clean and bright. The food was very good and well worth the money and the service was good but would have been excellent if our waiter greeted us and smiled a bit. I would definitely go back!

Great food, great service, great location. Only con was how loud it is. There werent many people there when we were there but with the cement floor, high ceilings, and metal chairs it was just very loud. But the food more than makes up for it. We had burgers, chicken and waffles, dry rub wings, trufflr fries, and the special nashville chicken and they were all amazing.

Overall unimpressed with my experience. I was served a water with three flies in it. I understand I was on the patio but she poured the water from the large water containers out there and it was clear there were bugs in the container. The menu listed here on open table has several more entree options than they currently offer. I guess I thought this was a more upscale dining establishment as they take credit cards for reservations but really they just offer a few sandwiches and mostly burgers.

Stopped in to The District for an adult beverage before a show at the Music Hall. The music outside drew us in . Shalamir was the bar tender and she was AWESOME!! Great service and a nice atmosphere. Outside seating if you prefer.I highly recommend this place and will be back to try the food because it smelled wonderful!

Been here a couple times, it’s never been great. Keep giving it another chance. Very loud and after 45 minutes received “house eggs” like this (see photo). The over medium eggs were thrown into the bottom. The server thought I was crazy for asking for a plate. They also don’t switch up their cooking tools or something because two people at my table ordered the blueberry pancakes, and both people said there was a hint of salmon taste. I did think the breakfast potatoes were done perfectly though.

Move over Bobby Flay! First time at this establishment. The burgers were delicious--well prepared, perfectly seasoned, juicy, good quality of meat! The roll stood up to the ingredients and didn't become soggy. The French fries were small, well seasoned, crispy cooked, quite tasty, and so was the ketchup. Well portioned plate. The service started out attentive but as the restaurant filled it slowed down. Sat on the patio so had street "ambiance" only. Will definitely return.

decent food, good drinks, great location and some of the most prettiest waitress you'll ever see in a rest.

Wanted to really like this place, but was disappointed. My food was terrible (rice tasted like burnt popcorn and the taste would not leave my mouth, plus the cut of salmon they give you is so tiny) but my husband seemed to enjoy the steak tips. Pours were really stingy. Service was good.

Service was horrible. It seemed they were short staffed, our waitress never explained the reason for our significant wait times. Drinks took 15-20 minutes, our waitress was also the bartender. She would show up with only part of the drink order and then ask our table what they ordered again. It was a bizarre experience. The restaurant was not at full capacity during our dinner, we had a party of 10 (reservation so they knew we were coming) Our dinner took 3 hours from start to finish. I've lived in Portsmouth for many years and this was one of the worst dinning experiences I've ever had. My meal was okay but not worth the money I paid for it. Scallops were over cooked and the pad Thai noodles were poorly prepared or sat under the heat lamp for far too long. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

We were there for a friend's birthday. Too many of us i guess. The service was great despite bisy time. Food was good. I ordered Gnocchi which i shouldn't have. But others enjoyed their food.

We were able to sit outside whi h wr enjoyed. Servicer slow! Waited 20 minutes to get water and see our server. We all enjoyed our food. They were able to accommodate our gluten free and food allergy issues.
