Service was attentive and warm throughout. Overall, a pleasant experience in a lovely setting — just shy of exceptional due to execution. I will return.

The strawberry shortcake was among the best we ever had - almonds and sugar sprinkled on and baked atop the biscuit - pure genius and delicious!

Said was good cottage pie but nothing extraordinary. Service and ambiance were excellent. Water choices were sparkling, still or “regular.” We chose the regular but some ice and a slice of lemon would have been a nice touch.

Food was exceptional - the rich, creamiest seafood chowder I've had, without being heavy. Had the “Portuguese” cod as entree and it was a symphony of flavors, fantastic. My wife had the trout with leeks, which she raved about. Finished with the strawberry shortcake which was terrific. Staff was professional, warm, and attentive! Bit of a drive for us to get to Portsmouth, but Puddle Dock is well worth it!!
