Cutest japanese steakhouse I have ever been to. Extremely nice staff and quick service, this food is absolutely delicious. My favorite place in rochester hands down.

Lived in the area for a few years and decided to stop in for some sushi, and I’m glad I did.

Came back with the rest of the family. This is now my go-to spot if I want Japanese.

It’s quiet, the staff is very friendly, and it’s just an overall cozy place to come and eat. I will be back as much as I can.

A1’s food is incredible! In particular we enjoy the miso soup, gyoza, the Snow White, Spicy White Tuna, & Winter rolls, teriyaki steak, and tempura. Their service is outstanding and your food comes quickly. It’s definitely our favorite place in the area!

I was really, really sad when I moved into town that I was so far away from my favorite sushi place back home. But then I discovered A1 and now I'm here every week! I usually always get sushi but all of their food has been amazing! They're so close by my home and super reasonably priced. The food is fresh and delicious and the staff are always so nice!

My husband and I also dine in occasionally and their drinks are very good as well. We like how homey it is inside; it's not gigantic and loud but cozy and comfortable.

Food's good, atmosphere good, service decent however their online menu pricing is significantly outdated.

Showed up with some friends for their $12.50 chicken teriyaki bento box, turns out it's $17.99. (44% hike) Showed waitress their menu from their website. Waitress said unfortunately those prices were from when they opened in 2014. (10 years out of date). I contacted their website host, Menusifu, as well to update their pricing for the A1 Japanese Steakhouse website.

See 2 current photos of their menu with correct prices under their photos tab posted on 06-09-2024 as well as a screenshot of their current online menu bento box prices, which are false.

Probably will go back, just hate showing up to a restaurant under false price pretenses.

Really admire how clean the restaurant is: from entering, seating, and eating the food, it's great to see an establishment prioritize cleanliness. Nice, quaint atmosphere - this location has become our favourite spot nearby for super fast East Asian cuisine. Staff is also super friendly and attentive. 100% recommended.

Vegetarian options: There are some menu items available for vegetarian diet like age tofu, etc.

Dietary restrictions: Pesceterian friendly.

Parking: Not a large parking lot but ample parking space for restaurant.

Kid-friendliness: Great, cute location for kids.

Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking nearby, restaurant on first floor so easy wheelchair accessibility.
