We should have known when the bar was totally packed, the booths were fairly empty, and there was a sign asking to seat yourself. We sat ourselves and waited, and waited, and waited. After 20 minutes of seeing everyone at the bar get what they want and servers walk by us but never make eye contact, we packed it up and left. Really too bad they share the same name as the Fish Shanty and the same space as Alexander's, nothing like the old places Mr. Fofolos and Mr. Eliades would not be too pleased. First time going, probably won't be back, sad.

Pro: great food, great service, fair pricing. Con: 11 televisions in one giant room with a full wrap-around bar as a main feature. Want a quiet chat and good food? Get it to-go and sit in Henry Law Park.

I’ve never had food come out so quickly at any restaurant I’ve ever been to. We ordered burgers, steak tips, fish and chips and were in shock when they came out lightening fast. Food is delicious - we’ve already ordered takeout multiple times since our first visit. It’s one of the only places in the area that has late hours with good food and is easy to order takeout from. We used to order from The Farm in Dover but it was so hard to get an updated menu and so difficult to order we gave up and also they close so early. I’m kind of confused at some of the reviews here. The Rollinsford location we went to for the first time 3 weeks ago has never had us waiting for food so far. I’ve already recommended the place to friends. Also they were playing country music and it had a cool vibe.

The Shanty came highly recommended to us; so we decided last night to finally try it. It was a one and done. We were greeted after several minutes; my lemonade tasted disgusting. I asked for a second one thinking maybe the syrup was running low... it wasn't apparently, just evidently not good tasting lemonade. Not the end of the world. Ordered an app which came out rather quickly and tasted fine. Ordered dinner (I ordered a chicken sandwich, requested ranch on the side, no aioli as I don't like it). Sandwich came out and I asked for a new one since it was smothered in the aioli I had specifically asked to not have. If it was a little, I would have just wiped it off. I learned exactly why you don't send food back. Their idea of fixing my sandwich was just wiping off the aioli, throwing a piece of cheese on and sending it back out. I was disgusted that THIS is how they handle customer service, and I couldn't help but laugh because these are the things you read about. Our waitress, who I do not fault whatsoever, apologized and said it wasn't an acceptable response to my request. She had the "lazy kitchen" make a new sandwich, which was mediocre - I barely even ate it and left it behind. My sandwich was removed from the bill, but the fact they thought "customer service" was treating their customers as if they were stupid and wouldn't have noticed the aioli still clearly on the sandwich was unacceptable. If I was being rude or belligerent, I would have deserved such treatment, but I wasn't. I would not return, I would not recommend. I would also expect far better service from an establishment. So, moral of the story: Don't return your food to their kitchen, their kitchen staff does not care about customers. I also regret not taking a photo of the before/after of the sandwich.

Came here for the first time tonight. Everything was spectacular! The food was AMAZING and the service was great. This place is always busy and now I know why.

We had the mozzarella logs for an appetizer. I'm not usually one for mozzarella sticks, but I can't wait to go back for more. Then came the huge garden salad that we split. He had the Sporky pizza ( garlic sauce, mozzarella, ricotta, sausage and roasted red peppers ) I had the chicken Parm. The portions are big and the food is delicious. Will definitely be going back.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Been there 3 times, I've had the Shepherds Pie, Toasted Italian Sandwich and, the Haddock Sandwich. Each time it was terrific....
