Hubs and I have been here a few times over the years. We decided Friday to meet a friend for lunch. Low key ambiance, its like a home broken up into different dining rooms. Upstairs is more open like a tavern or bar. Friday we were sat in a cozy small dining room area. We opted to start with the combo platter and crab cakes. Everything was crispy, hot, and seasoned well. It came with many dipping sauces plated cutely on a beer flight board. The crab cakes were fat and sweet with the delicious crab. Hubs had the Reuben sandwich, which was packed with meat. My friend and I opted for the special cheeseburger salad. When described, it sounded terrific. What was served could have been much better. While it was huge, it lacked ease of eating and flavor. It was served in a massive bowl with large pieces of lettuce, and on top was a cheeseburger patty layered with onions and cheese and a smidge of aioli. It made it extremely hard to eat. Even though the salad was disappointing, the other food service and ambiance will surely bring us back!

My first time dining at Black Water Grill. I enjoyed a tasty pasta with chicken in a vodka sauce. The portion was large enough for the next day's lunch. My son had steak and fries, which he said was very good. I can certify that the fries were exceptionally tasty. My stepdaughter had broiled sea scallops, which were melt in your mouth delicious. Our server was personable and efficient. The prices were decent and the atmosphere was comfortable. We all enjoyed the experience and will return.

My wife and I took a neighboring couple out to dinner for their anniversary. Two of us got blackened Mahi. One ordered Surf and Turf. The fourth got Scallops. The one who got surf and turf said that was the best he ever had. We all agreed that the food was excellent. The room was relatively quiet, so we could easily talk. The dining room was clean. There were separate rooms for parties. The waitress etc were terrific. The food was a bit pricey but worth it. We had lots to bring home. The desert, keylime pie was great as well. I have been there several tomes previously and would recommend it if you want a superior meal at a fair price.

Stopped for dinner on a Saturday evening at about 5:30, on our way back from Boston. To say we felt unwelcomed is an understatement. Hostess didn't even say hello, not so much as a smile. She ssumed we were attending a function in the lower level and was especially put out when I told her we didn't have a reservation (did not know what time we would be arriving). She seated us shortly in a room that had all the ambiance of a funeral home sitting room. Felt like we were being banished out of sight. Our server was polite, but, again, did not make us feel very welcomed. Never asked if we wanted appetizers. Had to ask her the price of the "specials" which is a BIG no-no. Never asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu.We had attended a formal affair in Boston and were looking forward to a great dinner. Very disappointed. We are affluent patrons who enjoy a fine dining experience and are not afraid to spend the money for that pleasure. This was our first time dining in the restaurant, though we have attended and hosted several events downstairs. The food was wonderful, but the entire experience was ruined by the staff. Sadly, not sure if we will be back.Parking: Was difficult to find parking lot entrance. Decent amount of parking.

Came here after shopping in Salem because everything had a long wait. The food was phenomenal and super affordable for the portion sizes. It feels like you’re eating inside someone’s house in the best way possible, candles everywhere and a very intimate and friendly atmosphere. The waitresses were extremely accommodating and super friendly. I would highly recommend it and we will definitely be back again!
