We hired Love&Flour to make our wedding cake after tasting their sampler box. We chose the strawberry and cream flavor and it was delicious! I had a call with Jaime prior to the big day and she helped me decide on the size and design of our cake. We couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out! The cake was beautiful and delicious! Thank you!!

I ordered a fall cake sampler, it never arrived. It took multiple emails before someone finally answered and said another was being sent, that didn’t arrive either. I spent 2 months trying to contact them and work something out, it’s impossible to get a response. Watching them take on more preorders for the holidays while I couldn’t get anyone to answer, was frustrating. I eventually had to dispute the charge on my credit card to get a refund. Having to deal with this for 3 months was annoying. We’re all busy, it was a waste of my time.

I ordered the Fall Cake Sampler as a gift in September for delivery in early October, but the order never arrived. After four emails and two phone calls, I was eventually told there had been an issue with the post office and that a replacement would be sent.

Since the item was intended as a gift and it was already late October, I explained that I no longer needed the order and requested a refund instead. I was told the refund would take 21 days. After 30 days, I have sent two additional emails and made multiple phone calls, all of which have gone unanswered. I have not received the order or my refund.

Buyer beware when ordering non-custom items. The store’s voicemail is consistently full, communication is extremely difficult, and resolving issues or obtaining a refund appears to be unlikely.

Wish I could write a good review, but no one answers the phone and I keep getting a message that the mailbox is full. Great way to do business! No way I'm driving from N.Salem on 111 to damn near the Methuen border to find out if you make what I'm looking for. Very disappointing.

I’m not ok after eating your pumpkin caramel cupcake from the Showgirl event today. That was the BEST cupcake I’ve ever swallowed. Yes swallowed because I truly inhaled it so fast. How will I ever eat another cupcake again ? Thank you.

I wish I took pictures. I have used Love and Flour twice this summer. Once for an 80th Birthday and again for a bridal shower. The quality of the cake and cupcakes was amazing!!! The decorations were exactly what I asked for and beyond what I expected. The cake and cupcakes were a hit at both parties. Be sure to bring to-go containers so people can bring them home without ruining the frosting. 🩷 Celeste Ferguson

We ordered 5 dozen cupcakes and a smash cake for our girls’ first birthday this past weekend and the cake came out exactly as I requested and our guests RAVED about the cupcakes the entire party. The online process was easy, seamless and without issue.

The pick up process is a little interesting as you have to call and they bring it boxed out to you, and there’s no offer to see your cake in a proof prior to pick up to ensure your agreement with the look.

We will definitely be using them again.

These macarons are otherworldly. Loved the texture, the flavor, and the decoration to perfectly match the theme of the event.

My email to Jaime, the owner, after my experience….

Hi Jaime,

Thank you for your prompt email response as a follow up to my phone call with your colleague today – I only wish that your response to my multiple inquiries requesting an invoice for my order was just as prompt. Please use this email as an official record of my order cancellation.

I understand that you pride yourself on communicating with your customers, especially when you go on vacation; however, this was not the case in my personal experience. Love & Flour confirmed my requested cake availability on Wednesday, February 19th. I then confirmed the flavor, pick up time, details less than 48 hours later on Friday, February 21st. I followed up with Love & Flour 5 days later on Wednesday, February 26th via email to confirm the cake– no response. I then called Love & Flour the following day on Thursday, February 27th and was told that the “admin team will get back to me.” I finally called Love & Flour AGAIN today, Monday, March 3rd (12 days after my initial inquiry) to which I was told by your colleague that she does “not have access to admin” and could not provide an invoice/confirmation.

For the record, I was able to inquire about a cake, confirm details, and place an order (with a proper invoice) in a total of 1 hour with another female-owned, small business, cake maker in the area. Unfortunately, when asked by colleagues/peers/friends/family regarding cake makers in New Hampshire, I cannot recommend you and will instead advise that they steer clear due to the lack of communication. I hope that I am not the only (potential) customer that has experienced this; however, when drafting my review, I have actually come across several others with the same complaint. I only wish that I was wise enough to have read Love & Flour’s online reviews prior to my cake inquiry, as this whole situation (emails, calls, etc.) could have been avoided if I just went with my current cake maker.

Thank you,
Hayley

They make the most delightful desserts that taste heavenly. The attention to detail, decoration skills and flavors are phenomenal. Can't recommend enough!

I ordered the small (5 inch) Funfetti Oreo cake for my son’s birthday. The cake itself was absolutely delicious as was the exterior Oreo fingertip frosting. We all felt that there was too much of the Oreo buttercream. There was 4 thin layers of the cake filled with thick Oreo buttercream between each layer - which was really an overwhelming amount of buttercream. Every person’s plate had loads of Oreo buttercream left on it after picking through to get the cake. I think this would be much better with 2-3 thicker layers of cake so you get a greater cake to buttercream ratio.

Additionally, the high ratio of buttercream to cake make this tiny cake VERY unstable. This cake was 5 inches in diameter and about a foot tall. At least 50% of that height was buttercream so it was a heavy cake as well. The owner said to leave the cake out at room temperature since we were eating it that day. When we transported the cake to our destination a few hours later, the cake had softened up after being out of the fridge. I held the cake securely on the center console of my car with two hands and watched the cake becoming jiggly as we were driving. Unfortunately as we turned into the driveway of our family’s home the cake just couldn’t handle any more movement and it slid into the side of the box. I used to bake cakes myself so I know how to keep them safe in the car… but there was no stopping this cake. The pictures posted are of my very sad $68 dollar cake that broke apart. As soon as I cut into it started to topple over so I had to have someone hold the cake up while I cut it. This would not have happened if the cake had been designed differently or if I had kept it chilled all day.

Overall I don’t want to give a bad review because the cake itself was delicious and the decor was beautiful. Execution could be improved for smaller cakes making them wider and shorter, or thicker cake layers with less frosting. If I order from here again I’ll likely go with cupcakes to avoid the issues I experienced.

I originally reached out to Love and Flour on 1/9/25 for a custom cake and other desserts for my March 1st baby shower. After a generic response asking for inspiration photos, I sent them what I was looking for with no response. I followed up on 1/21/25. I did not get a response back until 2/5/21 (almost a month after my initial inquiry). After seeing all the fancy instagram posts, I decided I was still interested in a quote and asked them to please send it to me. They did, and I immediately responded with some questions and revisions. Again, no response, so I followed up on 2/10/25, 5 days later. Went two more days with no response so I called on 2/12/25. I asked if someone could respond to my email because my baby shower was two and a half weeks away. They told me my date was held and I would get a response with a quote within a week (!!!) meaning I wouldn't even know the cost of what I needed until a week and a half before my shower. At that point, I was so discouraged and disappointed that I went somewhere else and LUCKILY someone else was able to accommodate me so last minute. It took over 5 weeks from my initial website inquiry to receive any sort of pricing. The communication is horrible and I truly don't understand how they can operate that way.

Here's an edit since I cannot respond to the owners response:

I did get an estimate on 2/5 - as I stated. I replied the same day asking for revisions, which I never received. This is why I called on 2/12 and was told I would have to wait another week for an updated estimate. As a fellow business owner, I know how unacceptable that is, especially in the given time frame.

There were only deposit emails sent after this. My email asking for revisions with other questions went unanswered. There were no follow up emails as the owner has stated. If there were, I would have happily responded with my feedback.

We had a very disappointing experience with Love and Flour and sadly would not recommend them, especially for anyone relying on them for a special event.

We originally ordered a sample wedding cake box, which we never received. After reaching out, they sent a replacement, but the cakes tasted pre-frozen and lacked the freshness we expected. Despite this, we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt (since it was sent via snail mail) and requested a quote for our wedding cake. They initially responded, asking for inspiration images and assuring us they would follow up with a detailed quote within the week.

However, after multiple follow-ups via email and phone, we never received a response. The complete lack of communication and professionalism was frustrating. Needless to say, we are not moving forward with them. If you’re looking for a bakery that values its customers and follows through on commitments, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

Feeling very disappointed as I have come here twice in the past two years from out of town and it has been closed both times. This is not listed as closed on Google or any social media. The only indication is a note on the door that says they are closed. I’m sure the baked goods are delicious but this has been a waste of my time.

Love&Flour made our wedding cake. We chose strawberry and cream for the flavor. It was absolutely delicious and the presentation was beautiful! Our guests thoroughly enjoy the cake. We couldn't have picked a better bakery.
