We have gone to Tomo many times. We have sat in the dining room and visited for hibachi. We have had an excellent experience each time. The food is always amazing and the service is great.

The hibachi wasn’t served in the usual order. Typically, the rice and vegetables come first, followed by the protein, but with my vegetable hibachi, the vegetables didn’t arrive until the end. The hibachi itself tasted good, though. Reservations are definitely recommended since this is a very busy place.

Honestly, we loved the food. We had the Steak & Shrimp, Steak and Scallops, Chicken, and Kids Shrimp Hibachi Dinners. The Scorpion for two Drink was okay, but the Mai Tai's were clutch! The Chef was average, and left more to be desired. Our waitress was decent, but we were left hanging after our first drink. She didn't return until the Chef was finished. We went on a Saturday Night so it was very busy, but we were seated within 5 minutes. A lot of birthdays and minimal space. I was there with my wife and young daughters, and we were shoulder to shoulder. I would recommend if you don't mind being in tight quarters.

Wow had this place gone down hill. I used to call this place the best habachi dinner I’ve had in 150 miles but lately it’s been absolutely bad. My wife and I have been longtime customers and past favorites of Mike.
Lately it’s just been bad, the chefs don’t know how to cook a medium steak, often coming out rare or worse. The service is slow and not friendly, from chefs and waiters.
It’s really disappointing to have to find a new favorite but the time is now..

While the physical atmosphere here is still great and offers a really nice dining environment, the restaurant just isn't the same place it used to be. Unfortunately, the front-of-house staff isn't very welcoming upon arrival, which sets a lukewarm tone for the meal. The food prepared by the hibachi chefs is still genuinely good, but the overall experience has taken a hit because they rarely put on much of an entertainment show anymore. It really feels like the luck of the draw depending on the specific chef you get seated with. While there are a few standouts who will actively keep guests engaged and laughing, the majority seem to just come out to the grill and do the absolute bare minimum to get by. If you're coming purely for the food, it's fine, but don't expect the lively, engaging hibachi experience it once was.
