Stayed here for a couple days, great spot. Gives the place a b&b feel. We ordered a Lodge, the Sunset, and a Blue Velvet (special) for the table. Not much choice around here and I didn’t expect much, but I have to say, those are some 5 star burgers! The atmosphere is one of the most relaxing places I’ve ever been. But that’s another story. Spots only open from 5pm to 8pm, but you get a full bar and some classic hospitality.

I am staying at the Sunset Inn and was hesitant to try based on the reviews. Idk what anyone is complaining about. The burgers are great. The service is stellar. The atmosphere can’t be beaten. Fries seem handcut and the burgers were delish. Give it a try, watch the sunset and enjoy a cocktail. Only open 5-7ish and that just adds to the charm. Also, they have GF buns. Woo!

We tried twice to dine here during their listed hours, and both times they were unexpectedly closed. The first time, the place was empty. The second time, we arrived two hours before closing, only to be told they had already shut everything down.

Where is the greeter? Is there a different entrance other than what i assume is the front, where you would find a greeter? Is this a private place off limits to tourist? Is there a certain attire? We walked briefly through, no warm feeling at all, almost thought I walked into I don't know, wasn't suppose to be there? Or allowed, geez my father use to be an Awesome golfer, from Havard, Dunstable, Ayer, MA, Fort Devens MA, he would have been accepted there, don't recall if he played there tho.

Such an odd experience. We went to the Tavern and ate in the bar. There was zero ambiance, and less so in the dining room - it was quite weird. Don't try to sit at the bar as that would have been incredibly uncomfortable, and unwelcomed. Drinks were not done very well either and the food was extremely disappointing. We tried it and were hoping for more, but won't go back - there's really no reason to try it again.

I will apologize first if this seems rude as that is not how i mean to come off however these are for honest reviews and I feel the reviews we read were misleading.I feel the atmosphere was very blah. There was no soft contemporary music or anything and besides the other conversations it was eerily quiet. Prices were rather high for some products. I ordered cod fishsticks for $25.00 and they tasted like a vat of oil, crispy crunchy batter but very thick and not appetizing and lacked flavor. My husband ordered the strip steak for $39.00 and it was burnt on the outsides but practically raw and cold inside. They also only had three staff that we saw. We were not familiar with the area so we gave it a try based on reviews.

We did not stay here overnight, but only went there for a dinner. It was during the busy fall foliage season and they were not taking guests who didn't have reservations. We did not know we needed reservations and they were so kind as to take us if we were willing to sit in the "bar" area, which we did. The food was delicious.

IMHO There is a fine line between a well-managed country inn and a dump. No open restaurant for breakfast! No chairs in rooms! Sparse dinner menu and it doesn't change. Not that they are not trying. Enough said!!!
