Castleton's Waterfront Dining on Cobbetts

Odd venue. Rude staff. There's no...space. My group rental consisted of the ballroom, hallway with two small benches, restrooms, and foyer with an obnoxious artificial waterfall. That's it. There was no lactation area, no place to change an ostomy bag, no place for a Downs Syndrome family member to take a break. There are very few indoor places to be, if you are outside the ballroom. I asked two different staff members where I could have some space to attend to the above bodily functions, and I received blank stares, mumbles, and a negative answer every time. “Well, you are not supposed to be here.” “What are you doing in here? The door was supposed to be locked” (It wasn't.) “This is too close to the bar.” (So? I'm well over 21.) Overall, I'm happy for my family member who had the celebration here, but this was not a family-friendly venue at all. My advice is to “Find someplace else”...because that is exactly what I was told by your staff members.

My friends and I attended a concert and had pork medaleon for lunch. When I ordered the pork I was afraid that it might be dry the way pork usual is in my experience. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the pork was the best I have ever eaten. All of my friends stated the same. "Tasty", "Tender", Can I take the leftovers home? (no, they could not). I know that we will be returning there again. I will always remember my meal at Castleton Banquet & Conference Center.

I’ve been there about a dozen times and the food is 5star food delicious. Great drinks too. I highly recommend this place. Plus the view is awesome along with a gas fire pit with rocking chairs around it. And then there is a musician there. It’s a fantastic experience.

Booked a reservation for Easter and we arrived at the restaurant to find it closed and no one even answering the phone. Ruined our Easter celebration and we couldn't get in at another restaurant. Clearly they haven't turned off their Opentable reservations even though they aren't open. Very disappointing.

Great place, food very good! Location and view was amazing. Looking forward going back next year and be able to sit outside.

We got married at Castleton 13 years ago and went for dinner to celebrate, they treated us like royalty and the food and atmosphere was wonderful! Couldn't have asked for more!

We just want to thank Julia, Connor and all the staff at Caselton for a great outdoor dining experience this season. The service and food have been great all season. We felt lucky to be the first and the last guests for outdoor dining. All of our friends and neighbors that we have sent love it as well. We hope to see you next spring.

Lovely way to spend a mild October evening- great food although a bit expensive. Patio heaters were definitely appreciated and needed but wouldn't have been sufficient if it had been breezy. Service was great and chairs by the waterfront fire table were perfect.

Beautiful setting watching the sunset on Cobbitt Pond. They have a pergula with a firepit and sofa chairs for pre or post dinner cocktails. Food was very good. Outdoor setting plenty of space and live music guitar/singer. A lovely special evening. A little expensive but worth it.

The atmosphere is perfect. It is by the lake and being fall in New England, perfect setting. The service was great even though it was windy. They had heaters and fire pits going. The menu is a smaller selection but the food was delicious. Will definitely be back. Great for a special night out.

Beautiful outdoor dining. Patio ambience is wonderful. Had to keep reminding ourselves we were in Windham, NH. We have been there twice now and food is really delicious, nicely prepared , and high quality. Enjoyable outdoor entertainment to top off a great dining experience in Covid outdoor dining era.
