Always love going to East of the Suez. Long wait to be seated. Called to make reservation.... No answer. LM . Fortunately they squeezed us in.

Phenomenal all around! Awesome atmosphere, great service and outstanding food. We started with their house made Szechuan giant dumplings. The dumplings were perfectly crafted with the most delicious filling and topped with a slightly spicy (very light!) oil. The samosa appetizer was a special tonight. So glad we ordered some- it was such an inspired dish and came with an unbelievable dipping sauce. Entrees come with salad, their house-made peanut dressing is next level! Entrees came after our salad course and were exceptional. A generous portion of fresh shrimp in a homemade chili garlic and basil sauce with fresh crispy vegetables was the highlight of the night. We also enjoyed one of the best special curry dishes, filled with insane flavor... ramen noodles and fresh vegetables. Packed with shrimp and chicken. Everything was an absolute home run. We can't wait to return!

The running joke is the place should be called East of Sewage. You will be served reshaped packing peanuts while you look hungrily into their very odd menu. This of course is only after you book a reservation a couple months out. I think to like this establishment may be true for some, but for most it is an “Emperor’s New Clothes” situation. It’s only rewarding trait is you can BYOB - which you will need plenty of to get around the awkwardness of eating in this house-refurnished-as-a-restaurant.l establishment.

My food was not good. I got the beef and it was tough and could only eat some of it. The veggies was some weird thing that came in a tiny sauce dish. Should have sent it back but was with a group and didn’t want to get into it. Service was weird - not friendly or helpful. She came up took our order and quickly went away. Drinks took forever to come; only arrived after I asked about them. Service was slow. After dinner brought our check and then never came back to get the card and run it. I had to bring it up to the counter to get them to run it.

After reading reviews and hearing from townies that they served food authentic Asian food, we decided to come for dinner. We ordered the Summer Roll as an appetizer to share with 4 people. We had high hopes, but unfortunately the appetizer had rotten tasting avocado and was generally flavorless. Disappointed, we waited for our entrees, the Bulgoki Beefsteak and the Specialty Short Ribs and our drinks. The Hawaiian drink was good, but the Indonesian Coffee was a let down. It was very bitter, and the simple syrup that the menu claimed it had was simply nowhere to be found. The entrees themselves were not entirely bad; however, the price for our meals were wildly overpriced for the small portions that we were given. The cost for 3 drinks, 1 appetizer, and 4 entrees totaled to $161.99. The service and atmosphere were the best parts of our experience.

Food was good but the chairs are very hard and not comfortable and sit inside instead of the screened porch was too hot with no ceiling fans.

Great “Pan-Asian” food during the heat of the summer. Screen porch dining is the best, or…..the “group room” for a festive semi-private night out!! At the end of the Summer Season (heading into fall), they have a special end-of-season buffet with some talented young jazz musicians !!
